What is your Noob story?

During Wrath, in my first ever two man quest I asked the other player "how are we going to divide the quest reward " -_-

In vanilla wow I misunderstood people asking in chat for someone to craft something. They would say ‘someone to craft x; I have mats’. I thought this meant there was a special mat you needed to give the crafter to sit on to make the item.

What is your Noob story?

In vanilla I joined a raid to kill Azuregos. We downed him and then the loot appeared.
I saw lots of people roll on stuff so I figured: Oh, you just press need on everything!

I was ‘lucky’ enough to win 3 of the items and got bombarded with insults and rage.
I was blacklisted on the server for quite a while. Thankfully I was in a guild with real life friends and such, so I could still raid, but pug stuff was an issue for a while.

In vanilla i level’d from 1 to 58 by just farming and killing monsters because i did not realise questing was a thing.

Because of this i never reached level 60 before tbc released.

In vanilla wow the zeppelin tower outside orgrimmar to undercity was 4 platforms.
1 platform was for the zeppelin to undercity.
I stood there for 15 min with my warrior wondering why the zeppelin would not show up untill i figured out i wass on the wrong platform.
Yes it was the early days of wow and i was a nub.

Pretty sure when i started back in mop the first 5 levels i did them just by autoattacking mobs, i was just having fun whacking mobs to death i guess  (no quests, was my first mmo too)

Are you sure you’re not my twin brother/sister??? My WoW career is Noob Story too :rofl:

My standout noob moment was my first ever dungeon as prot warrior back in WOTLK when i first started playing (Scarlet Monastery/Halls) my tanking was that bad, one of the dps was telling me my rotation. Good times…

It’s still ongoing after nearly 20 years

I did that in a dungeon but the others were kind enough to just explain it to me

When I got TBC as first WoW and first mmrops

Tried leveling… When dead and noticed red mark mean broken gears.
I buy new “white gears” from vendor and deleted broken.

When friend telled me “Dont need buy new. You get fix from repair”

When I made my first character(this one) and joined a dungeon for the first time, my pet died I think at the beginning of the run and didn’t know I could ress it  So I finished then dungeon without it and was sad that it was just gone. xD Though I’d lost my Chookity for ever!

Oh yeah and all those times my pet pulled the dungeon with it

I was level 20 before I first grouped up with someone (who was later a guildmate but left many years ago)… that’s when I learned what an Int buff is and that I should be using it. For those that don´t know /remember, we got that at level 1…but I was still fully concentrated on perfecting “Frostbolt-Fireball-fireblast-frostbolt-run like hell!!”

5 minutes later, now feeling superstrong, I learned what a “skull” in front of an enemy player actually means when a (I assume L70) Troll mage ravaged Thelsamar and I attempted to help.

Good times.

I nearly deleted the Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal, and dragged my entire guild do an epic quests for a turban that gives 9 mana every 5 seconds and the hope I will get the Scepter of the Shifting Sands as a staff.
In my defense, it was 2005 and I am an idiot.

“It’s OK, I’ll tank!”
“Rogues don’t tank, noob.”

LOL, I have to think of BC heroics… Literally the exact same situation, verbatim… but the rogue answered with “Oh, Really? Watch this…”

And 15 minutes later I absolutely had to admit that I was the clueless N00b

I still do noob things, even after a decade of playing WoW…… Twice in the last 2 days I thought I’d mounted up and pressed forwards and space to take off, only to jump off a cliff on foot towards my death. By total flukes I was on my priest once and was able to levitate safely down, and on my pandaren monk the second time and was saved by his ‘bouncy’ racial.
