What keeps you playing your main class/character?

Well, between Hunter and Warlock I would choose Hunter. And twice that for solo play.

Warlock has a ton of utility, but most of that is for parties.

When it comes to gameplay, the speed and naturalness of Hunter’s actions vastly outweighs anything Warlock can do. I don’t like waiting for Chaos Bolts, and Afflic takes the longest time to kill anything. I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s gonna die, and suffer greatly in the process, but you’re gunna suffer too, watching it. That is acceptable on a boss. It is not so acceptable when you need to bring back ten bear asses.

Soloing elites, Hunter vs Warlock? Ummm, depends on the encounter, I’d say. I wouldn’t give either a clear edge. Gear would certainly outweigh class by a lot.

And while you may see sharing Mail as a disadvantage, think of sharing transmog.

It’s a bit annoying having the lack of mobility and instant spells. Hunter should be better option for solo/open world play and warlock for raid/m+ content. The oy think I afraid as hunter is beeing rejected too much since I don’t bring anything special to the group. Sharing transmogs can be good and bad as well, plus hunter seems easier to pick up but long term looking warlock seems more enjoyable because it’s a bit harder but not too hard to don’t want to play it. Both have pros and cons of course.

I play a lot of alts casually, currently ‘maining’ a fire mage as it is fun getting instant Pyroblasts to proc, standing blasting at a mob. There are also few tools in the box to help with survival and the shield lasts longer than Shadowpriest. (which got awful to play imo).

I like hunters, (my main in modern Classic). The caring for a pet fantasy and having something to tank is super useful.

Having to dismiss pet for jump downs in dungeons, remember to turn Growl off and getting range (Classic nightmare as with arthritis in the hands, I struggle to kite) was not so good.

Ive played this guy since the ICC patch in WOTLK, and apart from an 18 month break in WoD, feel i have invested too much time to just ditch it. Never messed around with alts much. Plus i kinda like the warrior playstyle

It’s the variety of fitting and nice mogs for me.

Also, DPSing requires me to be minmaxing like crazy - I do like power but won’t be banging Mythic raids 24/7 even if I had a chance. Tanking, used to do it, but it has too many responsibilities and is expected to be its own healer. I much preferred the classic versions that were about mitigation mostly.

That said, I do like a responsible role that’s friendlier on gear, so healers it is.

And with the specs it’s easy to express your mood. Feeling very worn and angry? Go shadow, be a torturer. Are you having a deep feeling of empathy for someone? Holy it is. Mixed maybe? Then disc!

Roleplay wise, there shouldn’t be many belf priests, but I decided to be one for the gist of it. I loved this toon since I made her. Bit like the love of my life :sparkles:

This sounds really good, and also more variations is always nice to have. I love holy spec but shadow is not my coup of tea, it’s too hard for me

And also since I play alone all the time, I would like to have company with me so demons or cuddling pets are welcome

I main what ever is fotm. My life time is too short to be declined

My Hunter was my first ever character so there’s a sense of loyalty to it because I’ve done so much with them over the years. I’m a completionist so like to do achievements, etc. on the one character rather than repeat stuff over and over again with alts. Plus, having to learn different rotations, etc. is too much hassle for me. Yes, it provides a temporary distraction to play alts but I find myself still returning to my main…even if Blizzard have made questionable decisions over the years with regards to class changes.

Can I suggest the traditional course of action?

Since you have narrowed it down to two, make one of each to level 30 or so and play them a bit.

By 30-35, classes have most of their functionality. You have enough experience to know the difference between a class ar 30 and a class at 60, so it will give you enough to make a better decision.

It takes only a few hours to level 30 these days, so it’s not an excessive commitment.

Also, you will feel which one you bond with more.

I play two characters, a Rogue and a Priest.

Rogue: mostly for open world activities. I like stealth, since it helps you avoid players/mobs when you feel like doing so.

Priest: I mostly do BGs on my healer Priest. Playing a healer in BGs makes me feel like I can impact the outcome of the BG the most as far as an individual player is concerned. A good DPS is useful ofcourse, but without someone to keep them alive, their potential can be wasted. By playing a healer, I can make sure that my team always has one and that said healer (me) is according to my standards (which are average, but even that is good in Random BGs haha).

I have them both at max, but since I have time before DF hits, maybe I should try out few more classes like Mage (love frost, but arcane and fire seems harder) and maybe Druid (don’t like balance but resto seems fun and feral/guardian is something out of my playstyle but would give it a shot).

Memories i guess ,I had plenty i main my mage since 2012- 2013, never reroll to another class .

It is hard to really answer the question, because I swapped mains a few times for the purpose of being able to raid mythic with my guild more easily.

My original main was my paladin, and I stuck out with him because of the biggest selling point hybrids have: versatility. I later started maining this mage and a warlock on Alliance side to help a guild out with mythic raids.

Eventually I was drawn back to hybrids, and now consider maining my monk (who I have been playing on and off since WoD) because I like the option to swap between roles. It is a boon I am really missing on my warlock and mage.

I would this hunter would be my main, has been since I started playing. I tried have a second main sorta, a druid tank but due to irl things it was a bit too hard to maintain 2 characters, doing raids and mythics+ with them. Plus learning to tank takes a while and this late into the expansion maybe not worth it.

But I like playing hunter mostly because of the mobility and being able to run around non-stop doing dps if I feel like it. Plus can solo quite a bit of world content which is nice.

And then lastly there is the emotional attachment, this character being the first wow character I ever created.

Fun

Pure and simple

cuz orc warrior is apex wow

Fun and cool mogs.

The great performance of feral druids in all parts of the game.

Oh wait, that’s why I quit

I’ve been playing Captain America before even the movie came out :stuck_out_tongue::stuck_out_tongue: tossing the shield to 5 targets with dong dong ding ding dong… taking 3000 enemies at the same time… so cool.

Why I chosen my character Class

I had chosen the Rogue, as I had found it interesting back when I played the Assassin’s Creed 1 for the first time. So I had chosen Rogue, as I had liked it how it is focused on stealthy gameplay, and I have been playing Rogue since Classic. I had chosen Human, as I think they have the best physique and transmogs look really good on them. Until I had race changed to Void Elf.

Why I chosen my character Race

The game evolved over the years with new options, and new Allied Races were added.
I always liked Elves like since Warcraft 3, especially High Elves/Blood Elves, mainly Sylvanas Windrunner. I liked the elegant style of their architecture, I liked their Lore and I found them interesting in general. However, my interest in Elves was increased significantly when Sylvanas Windrunner received a more prominent role in some past Expansions like in Legion and especially Battle for Azeroth.

When it was announced that Thalassian Elves were going to be made available to the Alliance side. I race changed into Void Elf in a heartbeat. Now, I am attached and addicted to my character even more, since being able to play as a Thalassian Elf race on Alliance side is actually one of the things I wanted the most in WoW. When I race changed to Void Elf, I decided to keep my name (Alesta) same, as I think it’s fitting for both Void Elf and Rogue. And of course, transmogs look great on Void Elves, in addition to their elegant physique, for the females at least.
