Hey, i want to make a topic to know what is for you a marksmanship hunter to you.
Since i’ve only main in BFA Marksmanship, i’ve seen in Legion , BFA , Warlord, MoP Marksmanship weren’t the same like Legion was more a legolas style, BFA is more like World War 2 playstyle.
So for me the meaning of Marksmanship hunter is a sniper that spend all his focus for a big shot, maybe slow but sniper always prepare spot to launch the big shot. So for me it’s like you are generating focus slowly and the big burst come while spending all the focus.
The extra range was useful in very niche situations, like If you ran impassive visage x3 & stacked vers & mastery you could deal with adds & boss from same position on the 7th boss on BoD
Well i have been marksman since TBC. So i am kinda “old”.
Anyway a marksman for me is a precise, patient shooter that fires solely when knows it will hit. The difference between a sniper and a marksman is that the marksman is more often on the hit of the battle, and depend of a good reaction and precision to fight. A sniper will usually be out of direct harm, and will be more oportunistic (prefers to shoot not just when knows will it, but also when is sure wont be detected).
From all itenerations of MM hubter, my favourites were from the original talent trees, and WoD. Legion wasn’t as fun, felt was always shooting wet noodles, and BfA feels like all precision and focus was replaced by trigger-happy machinegunning.
It means walking around with a portable nuclear missile launcher in a world of Orcs and Elves fighting each other with swords, taking up poistion and then phatoooomBOOM one-shot.
Double Tap Aimed Shot is insane.
I feel like I’m the one that brings a rocket launcher to a knife fight.
