What pieces of the Felheart set (T1) are actually worth getting? (PVE wise)

Hello, I have a few questions in regards to gear for my Warlock on Classic. Sorry for the long post!

I am a SM/Ruin Warlock and it’s a spec I am enjoying while raiding but I think I will try out DS/Ruin in the near future. I am focusing on getting spell damage (shadow damage taking priority when it can) and crit more than anything else. I have the Anastari Heirloom for my neck piece but I was thinking of swapping it out for Star of Mysteria as I have 0% hit at the moment. Would it be worth losing 15 stamina and 13+ shadow damage for? Onto the T1 pieces:

Felheart Horns - I’d rather hold out for the Nemesis Skullcap (my guild is hopefully starting Onyxia soon, some players are taking ages to get attuned) but I guess I should go for this as I have Crimson Felt Hat at the moment. The stats make up for losing spell damage I think?

Felheart Shoulder Pads - Currently using Felcloth Shoulders. I would lose a lot of shadow damage but again, do the stats make up for it?

Felheart Robes - I can’t decide between these and Robes of Volatile Power. It’s much more likely I will be able to get the Felheart Robes first as I am not competing with mages like I will do with the ROVP. The ROVP is listed as BIS in many places and the 2% hit is really nice but the 1% hit on Felheart isn’t bad either along with the stats.

Felheart Bracers - Equipped. An easy upgrade on what I had before.

Felheart Gloves - Equipped. When I first got these, I wasn’t too sure that they were worth having over Felcloth Gloves (which I’ve since put in the bank) and having looked over at Warcraft Logs, it looks like a lot of warlocks don’t use them over Felcloth Gloves so I’m thinking of going back. Felcloth Gloves doesn’t have a lot of stats but the +33 shadow damage is really nice.

Felheart Belt - Equipped. Planning to get Sash of Whispered Secrets in the future but this belt isn’t too bad and the spell damage is decent unlike the others.

Felheart Pants - Equipped. Nemesis Leggings haven’t dropped from Rag yet but that’s obviously what I’ll replace these with.

Felheart Slippers - I looked at Warcraft Logs and I haven’t seen any warlocks using these. They’re sticking with Maleki’s Footwraps instead. Again, I guess it comes down to stats vs losing spell damage (27+ shadow in this case).

Lastly, I was going to ask if it’s better to go with Eye of the Beast (2% more crit) and Briarwood Reed (29+ spell damage) or Briarwood Reed and Royal Seal of Eldre’Thalas (damage and healing up to 23). Also, when I get the Tailsman of Ephemeral Power eventually, would it best to equip that with Eye of the Beast or Briarwood Reed?

Thanks to anyone that bothers to read all of this and answers ^^

Hi Valdamere,

This isn’t the correct place for classic related questions.

Have a fel warlockery Winter Veil!

As Warlock you will only Aim getting - Nemesis Skullcap, Nemesis Leggins and Felheart Bracers

The rest of the set is quite useless in PvE and is outclassed by like you have said other Items. Felheart Slippers is the only one Set Item you can also use, as the spell power>stats difference is not too big. Also Banthok Sash is better than Sash of whispered Secrets in PvE. It has the same discussion going on with Star of Mystaria vs +20 Shadow damage Neck. 1% Hit is basically worth around 20 spell damage. So in the end using Banthok will be more profitable duo to the Hit chance and Intellect you can gain.
