Tauren.

Tauren are the biggest ones, all of their pieces of armor are gigantic ! and the Paladin is all about hugeness :smiley: I love Tauren !

Tauren paladin so confident we don’t need to pipe up here, we know answer, and know typing here doesn’t change anything. Let the blood elves believe what they want.

I can call down judgement
I can make a tent out of hide
I can make the perfect peace pipe blend
I can walk about in glitzy armour
I can commune with my light by simply baring my face at the sun.

Tauren paladin - get you a paladin who can do it all.

Any paladin that isn’t a draenei or an human male or female is just pure hilarity and giggle, no wonder there are no paladin characters as powerfull and popular than draenei and humans one.

That awkward moment when (even if minor and not worth rerolling over) tauren and dwarf are the best races for paladin statistically speaking thanks to avenging wraths high crit values.

As holy, more so.

Lore-wise Humans are my favourite Paladin race.

Blood Knights used to be pretty damn cool too.

In terms of “lore clout” I’d rank it as this as the race “being archetypal paladin stuff”

I like that Zandalari and tauren mix up the “spiritual warrior” thing and make it more tribal. But I get that that is not what most people think when they say paladin.

I’d like Zandalari and Tauren alot better if Blizzard would go the extra mile to make them different, since they should be.

Just like the Blood Knight used to be, such little things add so much flavour imo.

They used to be. Seers and Sunwalkers had loads of little lorebits in Cata to make clear how they were different and essentially channeling noble sun power. Sadly come legion they shoved them in the class hall and they started squawking about the Light with a big L and seemed to drop all mention of what made them unique, instead becoming “oh yeah what we do is the same thing as the Light I dunno lol”.

I loved levelling up Hotahk the first, the class trainers with their unique greetings about walking in the sunlit path, and having the warmth of the sun on your back always. At least we kept the kodo!

I do vaguely remember the Tauren lore, shame they removed all that. How much effort could it have been to just add that stuff to the Order Halls for each individual race.

Ironically (I may be biased lol) but tauren probably have the most accurate take on cosmology despite how crude they are, if you humour they mean Azeroth by earth mother which is plausible:

The earth (land) is a manifestation of the Earth Mother (Azeroth world soul), Light and Darkness are natural and therefore both are right, not wrong (cosmic forces beyond the planet) and the Earth mother has “kindred spirits” in Mu’sha and An’she (Elune and ?) Whom act as wards of her. There is also mention of a Sky Father whom is a more aloof counterpart of the Earth Mother (possibly reference to Aman’thul or other “non terrestrial” titans).

Like, the Tauren mythos when you look beyond the simplicity is massively on point. They recognise the planet has a soul and life, they recognise light and dark are not right or wrong morally, they acknowledge ancients and existence of extraterrestrial spirits. They may not know it, but Tauren have the closest view of “how it works” to how it actually is as far as we know!

I correct myself, it’s human. You just have to imagine you’re 24 and hot (something like Anduin), not that unattractive old grandpa your actual model looks like.
