I’m looking to create one so I want to know why you choose the race
Human all the way. Good racials and nice fantasy.
Whatever you do don’t choose any type of elf. The ears clip through armour and their racial passives don’t do too well on the dps meters (only minor difference tho).

I do have be but I prefer alliance and human
When it comes to Elves ear clipping is a problem but it depends on transmog.
Also if you choose famous “hide helmet” transmog problem is guaranted to disappear.
Elven racials? Some of them are indeed poor for PvE nonetheless Void Elves provide some extra damage and mobility which is valuable also in PvE since avoiding aoe’s and reaching enemies faster can and will help you to deal damage.

Most peoples base their choice on two things:
- Appearance
- Racials
Nonetheless there is few more which many peoples forget and they are often omitted by youtubers: - Lore
- Sounds
- Race’s size
- Animations
- Base stats
1,3,4 are cosmetic but if you don’t like your race you wont have high morale while playing and it will likely affect your effectiveness on battlefield and decrease amount of joy.

Seem to be cosmetic but it is not. Minmaxers argue for years which racial is better and only few takes into account that for example amount of field of vision which is getting “stolen” by character also matters. For example if you play Highmountain Tauren and some Gnome starts bladestorm in front of you, you will likely notice it later. Lots of other actions will also be concealed and while interface can tell us alot sometimes just simply seeing what enemy character is doing is the fastest way to learn it. Character’s size can impede it. Of course sometimes larger size is preferred like for example when you fight on battleground and your large body covers more fragile characters behind you. Of course clicking is only one of ways of targeting but sometimes it is the faster. Obviously when you are fragile small body might give you few ms before enemy targets you manually. Again yes I know TAB and other forms of targetting exist but they are not always best option.Whetter bigger or smaller is overally better is hard to decide (although I suspect that small>big) even if you know which class and role you want to play.

Is mostly cosmetic nonetheless some animations are easier to recognize than others so in PvP they can slow down enemies reaction time by 0.00000001% hehe.

There are differences between base stats of races but honestly whats value of 2 points of damage per hit more or 23 hp when characters have 500000hp and bosses 100000000hp?
What would I recommand? To chose race based on your preferences.

Worgen. They have a sprint racial which makes up for the lack of mobility in DKs, and they do a sweet flip when you death strike. Okay, I chose Worgen mostly because of the flip.

This DK used to be horde. My friends went alliance so I had to choose what to do. I’ve played alliance for years in the past. I think humans look boring now but I always thought they looked cool.
I tried to be different, so I rolled Dreanei. There are moments I actually really like it and you dont see a dreanei DK around every corner (:

Undead DK because imo it reflects the ‘undead theme’ the most, obviously… But saying that, most of my characters are undead, I like their skeleton and animations
My only issue with undead since the new models is that their shoulders are too small and hoods look too big on them, so it’s tough finding a mog that looks good on undead, my other choice would be zandalari, but the toes are always out so find an appropriate boot with toe covering mog
If I was forced to go alliance I would definitely play worgen, they are the coolest alliance race

Mechagnome… Looks sick while dual wielding chainsaws from mechagon. With correct modifications you can hide glowing eyes and their racials are fun

There is something awesome yelling “Rise Gilneas! RISE MY PEOPLE AND HAVE YOUR RAVENGE!!!” as an UH DK when casting Apocalypse…
