Last night a pug of 20 people went in and defeated G´huun on Normal.
The majority of them did not have a curve or high raider io scores.
Through coordination, good instructions and flawless execution they
managed to defeat G´huun in one try.
There is a massive difference between the normal and heroic versions of the raid. If anything Normal is barely a step above LFR.
Agreed, especially on a boss like G’huun where the fight plays out almost completely differently on Heroic to how it does on Normal.
EDIT:
Wow, literally 2 posts in and already we’re down to flexing our e-peens and belittling people based on their raid progress. That must be a new record…
One of those is a G’Huun kill (curve) And there isn’t much more I can get out of there gear wise before the next patch unless I get lucky with titanforging.
Good for you!
Last night I managed to clear an HC dungeon with 4 total strangers. It was a one-shot. The majority did not have a 1k score.
Hell even a fight like Mother. On normal you can stop running on wind, cast a heal, run again and not die, do that on heroic and you’er dead as a door-nail.
It’s perfectly possible to know how an encounter scales without doing it; I’ve only ever seen G’Huun on Method’s Mythic World First! stream; doesn’t mean I don’t know how it plays out.
Still; Silvermoon says that kind of response was likely.
Sigh! My point was its possible to do normal without having an achievement from heroic or insane ilevels through teamwork. Obviously, that didn’t get across, so sorry for trying to bring some humor and irony into this forum I should had know better.
There is a reason that pug groups are looking for experience on fights and that is the mechanics on heroic are dire in the sense that one player can wipe the group if they stand in the wrong place. Yes particularly strong groups might get around this, however when an inexperienced player would not just die themselves but kill a few others as well then pugs become more demanding.
I would also recommend to anyone who wants to raid seriously to get a guild, use voice chat and study the fights. They should also be prepared to die a lot on progression.
Edit: I will also add that I’m not 100% in favour of such mechanics being so harsh on the groups for the mistake of one person. I also don’t really know where normal falls right now, personally I didn’t find it challenging, on the other hand heroic takes a bit of learning. I would think myself that LFR, Heroic and Mythic should be the only versions of a raid, with Heroic being somewhere between normal now and heroic now. But then that is just my opinion.
Nobody is denying that at all. The reason why group leaders ask for things like achievements is because they don’t want to spend time teaching others how to do the encounters. When it comes to raiding in PUGs, there are 2 basic categories: “Paying your dues” groups and “zerg” groups. Zerg groups aren’t looking to gear up and learn the fights, but are there usually just to farm sanguincells or get Re-origination array stacks. They want to be in and out as quickly as possible which means taking players who are overgeared and have curve, even though they don’t strictly need it for that content.
On the other hand, the “paying your dues” groups are made for people of the appropriate gear level, looking to learn the fights and gear up.
Normal is a cakewalk and doesn’t require curve, what’s your point?
Zerg groups requiring curve are looking for a hassle free boss-to-boss rush to save time
I have pugged G’huun on normal and heroic via my horde alt and it was fine. Mythic G’huun is insanity however. I am not sure what your point is because everyone knows that you can do the raids and dungeons on normal, heroic, and lower mythic keys just fine in a pug group.
That’s how you beat raid content. By having the coordination and good leadership. Not to mention people that want to work for it.
Let’s face it. Most ‘leaders’ in groupfinder are nothing more than glorified groupformers. A real leader manages to bring out the best in people and instruct them along the way.
Since when rio or curve has anything to do with normal uldir? Normal is basically lfr and people only struggled at it a little at start cuz everyone had 350 ilvl.
No idea what is your point here.
As you people are apperently being stupid or blind or just not wanting to understand.
People in looing for group system wants people to have Curve EVEN FOR NORMAL.
They also want you to have at least full heroic gear to do normal.
This has been going on for some time now, if you did not know about this then you should not comment here as you clearly never ever pug.
there are plenty of groups who do not ask for any exp.
The point of this post?
Gz on your kill
… and those Groups will not cater for first timers, as has been said above.
To be perfectly honest, anyone looking for a clinical first run is more interested in ‘shinies’ than the content.
Very rare in PUGs
