I just don’t see how a bunch of nomadic desert rats would discover the mysteries of the Arcane. Especially Frost.
Can we just make some mega-thread about the various classes Vulpera’s can be?
Only the player chars are able because mage trainers taught them after joining the Horde.
Et voilà!
Then why Orcs can’t be paladins yet? Tauren and Blood Elves could have taught them in all of these years…
thing is, classes restriction shouldn’t completely be erased because they actually add a lot of flavour to a fantasy universe…
and about Vulpera being mages, think about something like a Battle-Mage…they probably do not have a deep arcane knowledge (as of now) but they can compensate with melee fighting abilities while casting spells
I fully agree. There should be more class/race restrictions. But Blizzard is incredibly susceptible to tears so people get what they want.
Had Vulpera only be allowed the 3/4 classes like they probably should’ve been alot less people would play them.
The only logical theory I could come up with is they’re being trained after joining the Horde
That pretty much sums it up. Half of the class choices doesn’t make sense for them.
I agree that some lore restirctions add flavour. I’m totally fine with only humans having an order of paladins, or something like that. In gameplay? I’m quite a lot less sure. If I can deck my Night Elf druid out in Uldir and Mechagon Techno-stuff I’m already far beyond what really makes sense in Lore, I am in the realm of gameplay… and at most a “very, very special case” in Lore. So… why not accept strange class combinations as the same. Does a gnomish school of druidism make sense? Heck no. Could it make sense that one exceptional gnome - the exceptional hero character known as “the Champion”, one of a group of at most 30 - learned druidism? Maybe. Does anyone in PvE or PvP care? Certainly not.
If you’re looking for the flair of the world you are not looking at the players around you. You are looking at the places and the NPCs. And you don’t need to add an undead paladin NPC anywhere to make the undead paladin playable for players… (though in this case there was already one in game, but whatever…).
And really… if only one spec-race combination breaks the Lore, any flair it might have brought to restrict the rest is already broken, as far as I’m concerned. If I can play a lightforged shadow priest, I’m not looking at the player as a representative of WoW’s lore ever again.
