Havent played since the end of WOTLK.
I did some research and Frostmourne was recommended, but in my server list it appears as a medium full German language server?! It looks to be quite populated, so I thought there should be some action going on even when playing from Japan.
Am I missing something / doing something wrong?

did a quick research too and most people said oceanic/us servers.
yeah, frostmourne is an eu realm and got players but they are all…well, german. noone really speaks english there by default so i guess you could make it work but i would look for different options if i were you. you also have to consider the time difference between germany and japan. japan is like 9 hours ahead of germany iirc.
maybe you could just make starter accounts for the different servers, which are free and see which latency works for you? just walk around a bit or so.

Thats the weird thing. According to the net there is a oceanic/us frostmourne server as well, but its not appearing on my realm list. Only the German one.
For horde the recommendation was Barthilas, but that one also is not appearing on my realm list.
Almost resigning myself to Nagrand here.
Just pick silvermoon or argent dawn. im sure theres more activity there 24/7 than on your suggested realms.
