What settings for 240hz monitor 1440p?

Hey, I have just got a new laptop (4080GPU, Ryzen 7945X3D CPU, 240hz 1440p gsync screen). I have the graphics settings at max and get around 150-200 FPS in most content. Solo play I can achieve my cap of 240fps. My CPU is maxed constantly whilst playing however.

As I’m not achieving 240fps all of the time would it make sense to limit my fps to, say, 120fps? Then perhaps my CPU wouldn’t have to work as hard all the time?

My FPS is generally;
Dornogal - 80FPS
Raiding - 200fps
Delves - 240fps
Open world - 240fps
Dungeons/M+ - 200+ fps

What’s the general consensus, does it matter what my FPS is due to the gsync or is it best to have it set in multiples of 60, ie 60/120 etc?

Firstly, did you mean 7950X3D…??

WoW is CPU heavy, always has been… only more recent games (game engines) use a GPU for the rendering.

I’m using a Ryzen 7 5800X, an RX 6800 & a 1440p/240Hz monitor to get similar framerates at settings level 7; just because your monitor refresh rate is 240Hz, doesn’t mean it will guarantee 240fps in all situations… refresh rate & frame rate are not exactly the same thing.

You could try NVIDIA app, that is what I use to optimize game settings for all the games; including older and newer ones (got RTX 4080 Super myself).

I know this is a very late reply but there is a 7945HX3D for laptops too.
