Hello, Ive come back after a while and just wondering, what lock spec is the best now and what are the best comps I can make? I have a friend, who would start a mage, but not sure, if these 2 work for 2s and 3s much atm. Are there any sources, where I can check comps ppl play together? All Ive found were just various ladders.

frost mage + demo/destro is still decent but id suggest demo/ele+healer or demo/outlaw+healer or affli/ele/rdruid or aff/sp/rdruid
affli is also blasting massive damage & is good too but its way squishier than demo if you’re not good with kiting/managing defensive cds

Thank you. I have no idea, how to play demo, but after all these years of hating it, it finally looks like fun and efficient as well. I think I will give it a try. Do you think demo and mage can do well even in 2s or u were talking about 3s?
I’ve had probably the easiest duelist this season as demo arcane in 2s, if u cc well and kite it’ll be a breez

I am making melees rage quit on 2.3k mmr. I am playing demo/ret with a friend currently on my alt lock on 2.1k mmr novoice and undergeared in the sense that i (at that point) didn’t have everything upgraded to Rival 2 and my friend even wasn’t fully conquest geared.
Granted he is a 2.8 multi glad ret and i am not the worst player either but it was the first time ever we were queing this specific comp in 2s.

How do you guys survive as a lock without a healer, facing something like a dk or fury? The abomb limp & spear + all cds just nukes me before I even have a chance to do dmg lol
Technically with a ret i have a healer. Funny enough against warriors we have the highest win rate. We faced Joefernandes during our last session, maybe it helps you seeing how we played there. I sometimes stream myself when people ask me to, i can turn it on next time and send you the vod if you want.
perma curse of exhaustion, when he charges you you teleport, when he leaps on you coil and run away, then stun, then gate by that point theyre usually dead.
Warriors are probably the best matchup for double dps tbh. Faced kinda high warr druid as lock warr and the game took about 8 minute cos enemy warrior simply had 0 uptime.
Yeah i agree, i’m just saying it’s funny because you wouldn’t normally expect it considering how broken warrior, especially fury, is.
Tbh not really cos double dps struggle against classes with huge sustain and classes that do dot dmg (caster double dps atleast) so you struggle against affli locks, demo locks, ferals, rogues, hunters, dk ande since you can actually kite warriors and they need uptime to kill you while not being as tanky as other classes such as dk or dh it actually kinda makes sense.
The only rogue specc we really struggle against is assa though. Every other is manageable. Demo ist mostly unwinnable unless we clap the healer. DKs are not that much of an issue either. Hunters are impossible, they are way too broken.
I gotta emphasize on the fact though that i am playing with a ret. If you play with a mage or any other non hybrid it will look different.
