What to do after lvl 70

I leveled up with Chromie and choose Shadowlands. I gave up half way and switched to Dragonflight. I’m now lvl 70 (and not near to explore all zones in Dragonflight yet) but I got this quest to go back to Origimmar. I do enjoy questing in Dragonflight, what happen when I go back to Chromie? I would still also want to finish the campain in Shadowlands. Do I loose all my progress when I go back or how is this work? What is my next move? My goal with the game is just casual questing and mount farming.

Past expansions for a new player

Hi! I’m a super new WoW player, and it is my first month playing the game! I’m in love with the game, as it brings me much joy to play. As we all know, there are many expansions out there, and since I was very confused about it I asked in newcomer chat what expansion should I play. Every single guide recommended me Dragonflight as the first expansions to play thru. Now, to your specific question.

There are two cases.

Either

1. you have bought the new expansion (The War Within or Midnight, which includes TWW) or you’re going to, or
2. you haven’t, and you want to stay at level 70 instead of going on to 80.

If you have bought the new expansion, you can either

1. go to the new expansion, and come back to complete Dragonflight and Shadowlands later, at level 80, or
2. stay and finish Sragonflight, then go on to TWW

Either way, when you go back to Shadowlands, youare going to be overpowered for it. (Which, honestly, if you’re going to be OP for something, Shadowlands is probably the best place for it.)

So everything depends on whether you are going to stay at 70, or go on to 80.

If you are going to stay at 70, then

1. Finish Dragonflight and Get better gear, not necessarily in that order
2. Go back and finish Shadowlands
3. Start some new characters of different race and class (“alts”) and play them
4. Find something you enjoy doing at or below level 70

If you are going on to 80, then

1. Get to 80
2. Get better gear. Do some Delves, World Quests, etc
3. Make alts if and when you feel like it.
4. Wait for the next expansion, Midnight

Okey, thanks! I think I’ll stay at 70 for now and finish the Dragonflight campain. But I still wonder if I travel back to Origimmar (I want to check the trading post), do I loose my progress from Dragonflight for Chromie (because it will start the quest “a new adventure awaits”)? I read that some people did it by mistake and couldn’t go back througt Chromie again

Nope. You are quite safe to go to Org.

The quests you have done will not be undone, and when you come back, everything eill be exactly as it is now.

What changed was you hitting 70 and exiting Chromie Time. That has already happened, and travelling elsewhere will change nothing more.

You cannot re-enter Chromie Time after you hit 70, but the quest and your campaign progress will not change.

okey, so how do I go back to my unfinished quests? travel the normal way?

Yup.

There is a portal to Valdrakken in the Portal Room in Orgrimmar. You can also get a Zeppelin to the Waking Shores from the tower south of the city by the coast in Durotar - the same one that brought you there in the first place.
