i got a bit of a problem, i like to complete all quest in wow with my alt army.
but sadly i came across a couple of bugged quest. and normally abandoning and repicking it up or reloading could do the trick of fixing the problem.
but now i was completing Silverpine forest with my alts and the last quest “Cities in dust” bugged on me with once sylvanas is killed by godfrey and resurrected by her valkyr she phasing out and makes it impossible for me to complete. i try switching zones, abandoning and retaking the quest a couple of times but nothing seems to work.
i also tried opening a ticket but first i got a automatic responce and then the second time i got this message: *Thank you for reaching out. This is Game Master ******. I’m happy to assist you today, and I will be handling your help request with the utmost of care. (✿◠ᴗ◠)

specially the last line with " we have received several reports of this issue" and " our developers work as quickly as possible to resolve the issue" bothered me a bit since this is a cataclysm quest and looking on the internet this issue is indeed common but in al those years is not fixed so what is " as quickly as possible " means then? and wondering what to do now then about this problem.
With the risk of sounding like a Blizzard bot response, did you check wowhead? Usually you can find discussions there on issues like this, with either tips and tricks or confirmation there is no solution for it right now.
So my first advice is to not contact customer support.
You will not speak to a Game Master, but you will be provided with scripted replied based upon keyword searches, which are carried out within your ticket. So you’ll get generated replies and links to support articles.
The best way to get these problems resolved, is like Cylaris mentioned, checked Wowhead first and then YouTube. If you indeed see that they’re truly bugged, then the best you can do is submit a bug report and just continue on with your characters.
You could try on a different server by grouping with someone on a different realm.If the person you group with hasn’t done the quest you could try Party Sync and share the quest allowing them to do it again.
Or by turning on / off Warmode.
i did check wowhead ( thanks for the suggestion) and tried several of the comments methods like picking the quest up not being mounted etc and as before abandoning and re picking the quest but sylvanas keeps phasing out after she done her monologue after being resurrected.
even tried parting with a low level and do the quest link option and what gram suggested with warmode on and off but same result sadly.
its quite annoying since this is the final chapter quest of that area. and in the past when it was current content cannot recall to have such a issue as i have now with my alts
I understand, these kind of things are frustrating. Big meh! I can’t remember exactly where this turn in happens, if it is near SFK it may have been affected by the Love is in the Air event…? If it is in/near Gilneas I’m wondering if its update recently may be causing phasing issues.
its in between both so both are a possibility. it takes place in front of the breached greymane wall gates.
if its love its in the air i find out soon enough as after the even it should fix itself then. tough if its the gilneas event then im not sure it will be fixed soon going to atleast try it once more once love is in the air is done and otherwise i just have to move on and forget about these old quest. its just annoying that i cannot complete all quest before the war withing but maby doing all quest with 48 chars is a bit to ambitious anyway xD
A GM has the power to flag a quest as completed so you could move on from there…
Mark your ticket as resolved and do another one to hopefully get a more useful GM.
That being said, the CS has gotten abysmal due to most likely getting sacked in favour of AI responses and outsourced script readers who’ll literally never help you beyond referencing to some FAQ topic or WoWhead …
i finally completed the quest. i think i can confirm what the issue was.
i completed the retake gilneas quest line that recently was added and after that i could finally deliver the quest in silver pine as sylvanas didn’t phased on me anymore.
So for those who need to help to complete this quest from this same issue I have, you’ll need to complete the Return to Gilneas Questline from Dragonflight.
