Currently i’m thinking of ending my wow subscription after 20y, i’ve been enjoying any for of PVP in wow since 2005 but lately it has become a dreaded experience.
At the start of the expansion i was excited to jump back in with the arrival of Solo RBG and get some rating and have fun as a Prot warrior again. But it’s far far from an enjoyable thing nowadays.
You enter a Solo RBG as Prot, immediately someone starts saying or whispering change spec you need 2handed here. Obviously i can’t change specc once locked in. But then during the progress of the fight ppl get very hostile.
Example Match Twin Peaks: Druid in chat says:" i run flags", i respond by okay i’ll defend flag then and slow them down. Druid’s mobility > mine. 2min. into the fight the druid died and we get our marbles handed to us by the enemy team who’s MMR was 1890. Instantly a team mate started spamming in the chat “Report Prot warrior for sabotage!!! Get him banned! all report!”. I replied: “How am i Sabotaging the game ?”. He replied : “You sit in base, ALL REPORT HIM NOW FOR BAN”, I reply : “Read at start of match we decided roles and who was going to do what”. He kept rallying ppl to report me… . I got annoyed by the spam flooding in chat and replied “roles devided at start, read”… He replied “useless warr”. I replied “Read moron”. Ofc, now he went Rage honk and started shouting “Ok report him now for language IT IS 100% PERMA BAN!! REPORT HIM! HAHAHA NOW”.
This is not the first incident I’ve seen People are so Hateful when you pick a gamestyle you like and love, because it doesn’t fit into some predefined box?
Anyone else experiencing this toxicity in Solo RBGs? It’s really making me think twice before queueing…
I think Blizzard should just disable queue for tank specs in solo blitz since they are useless in this mode. They are not tanky enough to carry the flag and they have no dmg to contribute in fights/killing EFC
But since tanks are able to queue you should just play what you like and not listen to toxic people talking sh.it in bgs. I hope Blizzard buffs tank specs in pvp so they can once again be useful in RBGs or Blitz
It is an issue of Blizz class design and community’s experience with the tanks.
If blizzard won’t make a serious and deliberate change for tanks across all PvP modes tanks are doomed to be a punchbags for people’s frustration.
A tank can defend, harass the enemy from capping and be an fc.
You all have complained enough that we have receive increased damage already. So, please, stop restricting people from playing what they want to play.

The issue is, that prot warriors and the prot paladins (very low mobility) do not have a good reputation among the PVP players, and especially among the RBGers. You could say the same for the BDKs, but they can solo kill even a healer if they want to, therefore they are not being flamed at.
That being said, you are welcome to change their and our opinions on the fact that the prot warriors/paladins not being viable in the PVP scene.
Though looking at the ladder, there are more prot warriors in high ratings than any other tank class right now.
I was asking for advice on how to be a “better” tank in the RBGS before I started my journey 90% of them said to me not to play a tank, and that I would not get anywhere, guess who is speaking now?
Those guys shouting for mass reports are like 10 year old snitchers. I’ve encountered 3 of them now they are the ones that should get banned. So annoying like actually ape behaviour.

People typically queue in the spec they want to play. If someone wants a certain spec with certain talents on their team, they should roll that spec.
I love running flags, but if there’s a Tank on-side, I’ll take a backseat & let them FC (or anyone else that’s confident enough). Sounds like the Druid rendered your position on the team useless.
imo, stand your ground in future.
If you joined as a Tank with the intention to FC -tell the team that’s what’s happening. At least then if you mess up, fingers can be pointed.
behaviour enabled by the state of the game balance, healers are literal raid bosses/gods.

dude remember one thing: you will only achieve success in life through one of two things:
a) luck
b) doing something that will raise opposition
Just think of people who judge you? They are nobodies, pixels on the screens/nerds IRL. Ignore and do what you want
But why do you want to play a tank if you have the evoker healer that does the same thing as a tank but better?
I understand those who play tanks in bgs, but tanks have historically always been very toxic in pvp in general. It is not fun to have to wait for many marks to be able to kill a tank with a flag, nor is it fun to not be able to pick bases because the tank does not die and only the CC chains are useful if it is alone, because if there is someone with it , forget
Brother never read comments, never read Whispers, play the rated mode you enjoy most,
if its blitz do your best for the team effort, overall have fun. It matters absolutely not what other people say or think, its called SOLO RBG so queue and have fun, you will get good and bad grps.
This is also applied to Social media,“never,ever,ever!” read any comments on anything you view:D

My philosophy is basically this. And this is something that I live by. And I always have. And I always will. Don’t ever, for any reason, do anything to anyone, for any reason, ever, no matter what. No matter…where, or who, or who you are with, or…or where you are going, or…or where you’ve been…ever. For any reason, whatsoever.
Not just in Solo RBGs, it’s the reason I don’t really do Solo Arenas anymore (as healer, btw).
But tanks in Solo RBGs are in a weird spot, anyways.
Flag carriers should, currently, just be “too fast to catch”; MW Monk, Evoker. Don’t need a tank for that.
Survivability? Just set a Disc Priest or Pres Evoker somewhere, they can tank half the dps of the opponent; quite literally.
Intercepting? Just use a mage.
Defending a base? It’s too dynamic to make that very useful.
At least, on lower ratings. I’m sure skilled tanks play a decent role among other skilled players. But at the low ranks, it’s all way too chaotic to utilize the tank-properties well.
When a tank joins my game I essentially see it at 50% of a player and putting me at a disadvantage alrdy. Best fc is mistweaver atm so they dont even serve main purpose for tht.
The other team will also have a tank. I see it as a 7.5 v 7.5 match because tanks are so thoroughly outperformed by healers that they may as well be pets with extra CC.
None of these things is best to on a tank thats kinda the whole point, multiple dps specs does the same if not b
u been above 1.8k 1 time aka this season where u can que up and essentially be carried most of the way.
Tanks dont belong in pvp and especailly not solo rated.
Everything rn is already super rng if u get a good fc comp or not and having a useless tank that wont do dmg and cant do anything a good dps wont be able to do, its pointless to have a tank
Then play one, dont restrict people from playing what they want to play.
If you want a classic DPS/Healer matches there is your Solo Shuffle, 2vs2, and 3vs3.
(2000+*) But still ,I at least did it, unlike you, maybe that is why you are hiding behind your classic character. I did it this season because before I had no stable group to do 10x10 rbgs, which was the only PVP mode I enjoyed.
