short answer: gf
long answer: find a gf
I was wondering about the same yesterday.
1, Level up alts
Does not work for me, all the specs I like to play are currently unwanted in any raid / m+ content or feel extremely boring to play or really clunky or under-performing (prot warrior, destro lock, resto shaman mainly).
2, Hunt mounts achievements pets xmogs.
Not my thing either.
3, PvP
Not interested at all
Problem is, let us face it, there’s really are not much to do in this xpac so far that would keep most people engaged. Warfront big miss, islands big miss world quests are cancer after the 3rd year and Uldir is boring as hell. Azerite is a joke and gearing also too random(I want masterloot back, Actiblizz), half the classes are broken or boring to play with them.
My answer to the same question was to cancel my sub, play something else.
Darksiders 3 looks good BfV I am having fun with.
Myself will come back a week before the next raid tier, hoping that Zuldazar will be fun, and I could play the specs I am was really engaged to do so. (Looking at you Warrior, Shaman, Warlock class designers)
For people hurr-durring that I am a filthy casual, we relentlessly tried to recruit people to dip in mythic raiding, but on Ragnaros there are so many people who left the server that sometimes I don’t see a living person in the world outside reset days.
Hope Actiblizz starts to fix this mess and get people’s engagement to the game back somehow.
Good luck out there everyone.
Having a gf is also boring. My left hand never talk and never ask me to go with her to the mall when Im in a middle of a raid in WoW.
i read your reply, fun times btw xD
I agree. Also having alot of fun in BfV. Funny side thing. Used to work at DICE i really hope the next patch with vendors back Will make a diff
erence. God i miss pandaria sometimes…
I have certain things I’m committed to doing on a daily/weekly basis. We raid three times a week, and we expect raiders to do at least one +10 Mythic Dungeon for the weekly cache. I like to do the Island Expedition cap and tend to clear the emissary regardless of the rewards. I make sure I’ve done the world boss(es) and the warfront quest if it’s up. Even if I don’t need the reward I will d/e the item for mats.
However once I’m done with the must do things, I tend to look at what achievements am I interested in doing, are there any mounts I want to farm. Is there a profession I want to work on maxing on an alt. I sometimes go back to Legion to try and farm the reputation for the paragon rewards as I’m still missing two of the mounts. What old content do I need to run for missing transmog items etc. Sometimes I try for the legendaries I’m still missing.
The key is finding something else you want to do. One person may love collecting things. Another might hate it.
OP sadly I find myself in the same position, and I actually like BfA, but there appears to be no engagement in the expansion despite my love for it. Things are just thrown at you to get or do, and really, well there isn’t a real engagement to do anything.
As for some fun stuff to do, maybe consider the following!
-
Mount collecting // Pet
-
Finishing up certain achievements you may have wanted
-
Trying higher difficulty content that you may not have yet tried if you want to
-
Farming tmog items (I was never much into tmogging when I first started WoW, but when I got into it, it’s addictive and collecting is fun!)
-
Alt levelling - trying new classes you may not have yet tried
Play or do something else with your time. Breaks away can be a good thing. I took a long break in Legion and when I returned my interest in the game was renewed.
Set small goals or if you’re not into anything other than stuff you already do, just take a break and do other things.
WHAT TO DO WHEN BORED?
Log out and don’t come back for one or two years, works a treat…
Try playing other classes. I used to be bored like you then I took a fire ball to my face. So, I have now switched from melee to a fire mage and I am really enjoying it.
What to do when bored…
There used to be a TV show in the UK called ‘Why Don’t you’. it was a show about getting kids active instead of sitting in front of the tv. Course the only way to discover these wonderful activities was to watch the show… yes, the irony… It’s a bit like being bored playing WoW, so logging into a WoW forum, filled with WoW players and asking what should you do coz you’re bored playing WoW.
My suggestion is youtube an episode of Why Don’t you and doing whatever activities are in that episode. It’s the excitement of the unknown
I feel the same. I dont get to play as much as I used to and when I do I can’t remember or do not know what I could do. Hence the “logging on and just stand there” btw im a wrath baby.
OK… OK time for one of ‘bet you moments’
First… I bet you can’t traverse the whole of Storm Peaks on Northrend ‘without’ a flying mount or mount of any kind. It is possible for the most part… but I ‘bet’ you can’t do it. I did it so what you waiting for ’ scaredy cat '.
Next… hmmm thinks… ‘Bet’ you can’t level to 20 in Ghostlands without any gear or weapon. No training nothing … so take a Level 1 and walk to Ghostlands and walk out of the place at Level 20.
Hmmm… this may take a while … Bet you can’t level to 120 ‘without’ doing a single quest. Took me a while but can be done. You also can’t leave Kalimdor and or Eastern Kingdoms. Do that as an on going.
Hmmmmm … Thinks. Speed test … You can use a flying mount. The game has any number of silver elites dotted around the maps. Do you know where they all are? Bet I can kill them all, say in Eastern, faster than you can find them. I also bet I can get the greens on the AH and sold before you find the first. I bet you.
Still bored… ’ Find the mushroom in Hinterlands ’ … ’ Find the old knapsack in Hinterlands ’ Kill all the NPCs in Aerie Peak… just for giggles and see if anyone comes… PS there is an elite wolf over the way going through the bins. Tip that.
Take a Level 10 buck naked and run through the tunnels into Loch Modan as a Horde.
And last which is a personal favourite … ’ Sneak into Stormwind and kill The Hogger ’ or Anduin. Either , I don’t mind. Better is to get on a motorbike with a pal and ride over the bridge into Stormwind and see how many inns you can drink in… as a Horde. That’s a hoot.
Anyway… I have a big book of them. Fortunately I find way more interesting things to do. One thing I don’t do though is play the real game. Man can that get dull. So instead of turning right as the quest giver says I turn left and do the complete opposite. Way more fun. There is a great scene in Simpsons where Bart is playing computer golf. He’s right next to the pin or hole. The computer suggests he use a putter. Bart just pulls out a wood and knocks the golf ball into the car park and then laughs hysterically. That’s how I play the game. Sounds like you’re doing fun all wrong.
Its just a game. Play it any way you want. BUT ENJOY YOURSELF.
Currently i do weekly raid, weekly keys with friends, might help some of them to get weekly.
I did emissary for a while to get reps exalted im in no way going hardcore on achievements, only at 82 reps atm.
Do fun achievements is one thing i like. I really enjoyed completing the Uldir achievements with my guild.
And ofc leveling some alts when i feel like it. 8.1 will make it easier ofc but i leveled one up with the wow anniversary extra xp bonus. Every class i have is over lvl110.
Then i do other stuff like…reading a book and playing other games with the same friends i got to know from wow. We even had an IRL meetup in september and now playing board games with tabletop simulator or playing D&D.
I wouldnt start another mmo would rather try something else.
You want something to do for a few days? Go and get the Baa’l battle pet. Don’t use the “ask a friend with Uuna to help” method, get your own Uuna and complete both of her sets of “road trip quests” while you are at it. That should keep you busy for a day or two.
Classic. Sadly no laugh from Bart, but hey.
As others have said: take a break and play something else.
I’d advise to not jump straight into another MMO or MP game. You’ll end up with repetition rather fast and you want to get away from that or it being less prevalent so when you do come back… WoW be fun again.
I’m sure you missed out quite a few good Single-Player games over the years, find some and don’t just have eyes on the big franchises quite a few of those of recent years are just MMO-like disguised as ‘open world’ games.
