I’ve played guardian for the entire time I’ve been using this char. I hate using alts so instead, to play something else I want to try a different spec (and yes I know it’s bad in shadowlands but I still want to try).
Anyone got any advice on which spec is the most similar to guardian druid, including restoration. I’m presuming it will be feral, but I’m willing to try anything. Advice plz.
why not try all of them? get some simple gear (trinkets and weapons etc) for each spec and try them out.
I’m not sure if you can compare tanks to healers or dps but if I really had to I’d say feral because it’s melee. I guess I’d go feral purely because the gear is similar though
Take into account that you will never ‘really’ count at being stat-wise optimal straight off the bat. This won’t mean you’ll be useless with that off-spec either because the stats ain’t right.
Unless you already intend to throw that off-spec into the highest platform of content you are doing, then I wouldn’t really ‘worry’ so much on which spec you want to play. I play Guardian and Balance in equal measure, and generally perform quite well even if my off-spec is different entirely in terms of stats.
RNGesus destroys any kind of optimising gear straight off, so i’d say just enjoy gearing what off-spec you’d like naturally.
Honestly, all the specs play really differently other than they all have focus on damage over time effects.
If you really do want an alt and like guardian druid I’d seriously consider paladin, almost all their specs feel like a guardian druid.
