What UI should I use as holy (and should I use any?)

To confess, I’ve been playing since classic and never used any alt UI’s - though I have never ever healed, only tanking and DPS. Just because I am lazy and don’t like change much.

I decided to give healing a try on my paladin (seems easier, and I know the spells mostly), and so far enjoying it, but not sure about UI. I tried to use HealBot, but failed to understand why would I want it in a 5 man group, and what good it does, aside from polluting my screen. Removed it, and healing with default UI so far, but not sure if it will hold when I reach 120 and actual content - IcyVeins screams that default UI is insufficient in every way in every paragraph.

Can I have any advice from experienced people?

Thank you.

The addons I use for healing is “clique” together with the default blizzard raid frames. It’s basically just a super easy replacement for mouseover macros, and you save keybinds because you dont need those macros on your bars anymore.
So on my resto druid for example when I hover over a party frame and scroll mousewheel up it puts rejuvenation on my target, if I dont hover over anything and scroll up, I shapeshift to travel form.

And I also use “mouseover out of range pointer”, what that does is if I hover over the frame of an out of range target it shows an arrow pointing in that persons direction. Only useful in raids basically since the more people in your party the harder it gets to keep track of where everyone is.

Also I use “morebuffs” to be able to see more than 3 hots on every frame.

That’s it for my healing addons.
There is no need to install elvUI or something like that. If you’re comfortable with the default UI just complement that with any additional things you feel you are lacking.

I do not know if I am the right person to give you an advice since I am not so good with healing, having just done Jaina heroic once and not reaching anything above +10’s in time in mythic +, but here is what I’ m using for my UI:
I have two separate settings one for m+ and one for raid, but there is no real need to do it my way.
I am uising Elvui as my default UI for both raids and m+. It gives me huge flexibility and allows me to tailor my UI to my needs. In m+ it is the only thing I use, since it tracks debuffs for me (changing colors on party members nameplates when, for example, they are poisoned- different colors for different status effects) and that is basically all I need (I am using mouse over macros since i just could not remember which spells i binded to which combinations on healbot). For raiding I am additionally using pre- configurated GRID2 addon. Why? Because Elvui does not track (or at least it did not last time I was on a raid) Glimmer of Light buffs and this GRID2 setup does which is kinda mandatory

BUT

The most important thing is for you to have it your style and your way. Yes, you can base your gameplay, and your UI on someone’ s else, yet it does not always work. Try some addons yourself, try some settings yourself and find what best suits you. Even the base UI can be good if you prefer it. Just requires a little bit more work if beeing honest

You can try this:
" Unit frames -> Raid frames -> Buff Indicator -> Configure Auras -> Add SpellID “Glimmer of Light” -> Add spell -> Select spell - Glimmer of light -> Style - configure as desired -> Set location as desired as to not overlap with others.
You must use spellID “287280”"

Yeah, I can confirm that works to get Glimmer of Light buff indicators working on the ElvUI frames.

Some stuff is a bit hard to set up in ElvUI, and a lot of non-default settings seem buggy, but overall I like it a lot.

Oh nice. Gotta check it out and set it up

Default raid frames + BigDebuffs is all you need.
