Hi.
I know that Silvermoon is a hard populated Alliance server. I can see that there is horde from eather Ragnaros, Kazzak and Twistet Nether.

You will have a very good AH thanks to cross-faction AH, but almost no access to trading manually.
There will be little choice of guilds, probably just one or two. Almost no Trade chat.
You will have the same access to LF*, random BGs, and cross-realm groups as anywhere else.
World content is an interesting question. In PvE mode, you will almost certainly struggle to find things to hit, because there will be a great imbalance of people playing Alliance. This will make, for example, your Vale and Uldum dailies take much, much longer - probably several times longer. In War Mode, I don’t know; Horde generally dominate in War Mode regardless of the realm, but I’m not sure whether favouring Silvermoon in the coalescence would mitigate that effect. Let me say for sure that world quests in PvE mode would be pretty miserable, so it would depend on how War Mode is going on that coalescence.
I cannot undertstand why anyone would roll Horde on Silvermoon instead of Draenor, but that as my best guess at the major effects.
Everything that Gráinne said is true, but then if I personally were to roll another horde character I would choose a different realm than Draenor. I can’t say about Silvermoon but on Draenor for Horde there is no trade chat either, it’s just a constant spam of boosting services. Guilds are so many, believe it or not it then becomes difficult to find the right guild for you as there are so many ‘large impersonal’ guilds. I would love to see more balanced servers, don’t have any idea of how it could be done though
Also Draenor is laggy.
The new Auction House seems to have helped in that area though. Time will tell.
I do not find Draenor any more laggy than Magtheridon, where I mostly play. Or even than Earthen Ring, knon as a dead-and-buried realm, where I have a stranded alt. The whole game has been laggy everywhere, ever since BfA.
At patch starts, yes, you can feel it on Draenor, perhaps more than on Magtheridon. But that is also true for Silvermoon, where I have just a low-level banker, and even he feels it there.
Sadly, that hope died with CRZ. I watched my realm die over three weeks, and then a few long racking final breaths over the next couple of months. Realm communities and CRZ are incompatible.
This is true, yes.
Draenor auction house was/is notoriously laggy though - assume it was due to the countless pages of single items. It was pretty much unusable at peak times.
Not to too sure how the cross-server thing works for PVP (and whether your base server affects it) but Ashran is basically unplayable at the moment too - but as, you say, this is probably a multi-server issue.
You will not have as many guilds to choose from as you would on another server. You would also have trouble raiding Mythic until cross-realm is unlocked and Trade may or may not be a bit less busy than what you’re used to.
Other than that… Well, that’s it from a faction standpoint, guilds and highest-end raiding are really the only thing left in the game that’s limited by server and faction… From a server-as-a-whole standpoint, Silvermoon is one of the largest realms in the EU so the AH behaves accordingly (quick sales in large volumes, low profit for individual items) and it can be a bit laggy on big patch releases.
I would not recommend rolling Horde on an Alliance server for the various issues listed by other players.
CRZ is implemented everywhere and you are put into WM shards on/off with players from anywhere, that has no relation to you being based on Silvermoon.
Connected realms are different but tend to be lower population.
It’s the same on Silvermoon on alliance side.No trade chat other than boost selling.
Okay but let me understand. By rolling a horde on Silvermoon will mean that it will be hard to find a Guild and trading is not an option.
the reason I ask is cuz I like both factions and my guild is on Silvermoon Alliance. So I just wanna have an Orc Alt to relax on.
I have to be sure. AH, Group Finder and that option to make costum groups will still work on Silvermoon? I will just not have the option to trade with my group cuz they will most of the time be from other servers like Dreanor, Kazzak etc.
As the first poster said, all those systems work fine if you’re in a high populated realm, doesn’t matter your faction.
I have an Alliance character on Draenor and AH works as it should, same goes to LFG.
Please don’t spread misinformation. It depends what shard he is at, not server. Servers are irrelevant in terms of open world since shards got established.
None of us is sharing open world with players within appropriate server.
You are being phased into a shard (let’s call it virtual server) with random players, from random servers.
For example: 5 players from Kazzak, 3 players from Draenor, 8 players from Drak’thul, 5 players from Hyjal and so on…
Sometimes 50:50 Horde/Alliance and sometimes 100:0
It is random although Blizz says it is always 50:50.
Yes, it is a shard, but the distribution of realms within it is limited, and the faction ratio therefore not random.
When I do WQ with my Draenor toons as Horde with WM off, I see thet Horde dominate - not to the extent that Horde dominate Alliance in Draenor population, but enough that it’s rare for me to see a mob’s plates as grey. When I do WQ with my Magtheridon toons as Alliance with WM off, I see more Alliance than Horde, and more unavailable mobs being attacked, but closer to 50:50 than I see as Horde on Draenor.
