as far as i know the lich king controls the scourge, so now without a lich king are we to expect endless mindless scourge assaults until the end of times ?
pretty much, whit out the helm of domination the lichking has no controll of the scourge now, meening they can run rampart all over azeroth, not sure though how many are in eastern kingdoms and kalimdor though, but northrend should be over run now or close to it.
What? All the dozen or so ghoul that left of the Scoruge?
Elune save us…
We’ll likely get a prepatch full of Scourge slaying in Northrend, then we will probably be told that the Scourge is somehow connected to the Shadowlands (there probably were Lich Kings in the Shadowlands before Ner’zhul, or something like that), and will be sent to deal with it. And when we come back, the problem is solved.
there is way more than just a dozen, left, rember Arthas was holding back on unleashing the scourge also, so we realy have no idea how many there is, and Bolvar was raising more also.
If i rememd t corectly there was an interview where they said “fell free to speculate why the scourge is held back”. Maybe we will find out.
It’s Blizzard. It’ll be some dumb crap like Vol’Jin is now the Lich King lol
there are alot more than a dozen. and every dead is a new potential soldier of the scourge.
if arthas was still the lich king and wanted warcraft 4, only god could save azeroth.
that is at least what i remember from warcraft 3.
Actually, the Undead can’t raise more Undead by themselves, they need a being who can wield the necromantic powers needed to propagate Undeath.
Such as a Val’kyr, or a Necromancer.
Therefore, if the Undead go feral, they will actually be easier to kill since their numbers won’t be able to be replenished.
Sorry for the late reply, totaly forgot this topic
So yeah
The Scourge was scary and numerous
Since then we killed them left and right, daily basis, - not to mention slaughtered our way to Ice Crown (after that don’t tell me there wasn’t a goblin/Gnome who don’t realized, guys, we are on airships, undead horde below… uhm… drops some explosives on them?) the big monstorous abominatios mostly are dead, and quite a few Frostwyrms were destroyed
But more importantly, we destroyed the leadership
- Death Knights left and formed the Ebon Blade, only a few rouge DKs left
- the only known lich is in Acherous maybe (cold be more)
- No more Cult of the Damned (no plague spreding, etc)
- The Four Horseman were destroyed - replaced by ones loyal to Acherus
- Necromancers were rooted
- The Undead Nerubians were beaten to the point their living brothers got a chance to strike back and honestly I’m not sure any crypt lords remained or just a few maybe, and while they are inteligent… actually most of them should became free of the controll of the Lich King, they never were simply zombies, and should be a Forsaken Nerubian faction… but i must admit these spiders are a big mistery
- The San’layn left the team and tried to join the Horde
- Val’kyrs found a new job with the Forsaken (and slowly they died out too… not many remained)
- Don’t forget Sylvanas who murdered her way - again - to Bolvar to beat seven kind of s*it out of him…
What remained are feral zombies, and unlike the tradtitional zombies, they don’t replenish their numbers by biting and no more central leadership to command these feral mindless undead and repair/replenish them
I admit tho’ my point of view only, but imho, the scourge at this point -even if thousands upon thousands undead - are nothing more than feral zombies without any sense of self preservation or mind of their own to knwo what to do beside attack what moves (even each other?) traped in Northrend since they are not sentinent enough to relaize they could march under the sea like in the Pirates of the Caribian…
I simply can’t take the Scoruge seriously at this point
But yeah, this is my point of view and could (maybe are) be wrong
Nothing much
The idea that there must always be a Lich King was always nonsense.
Realistically some of the Scourge would be controlled by rival undead warlords fighting each other for control
Some would regain free will and may or may not join the Forsaken or form other freewilled undead societies.
Others would form hordes of leaderless undead which can be managed by the Alliance/Horde.
There would be no world ending threat from a leaderless scourge.
It would be a good mini expansion beating down undead warlords dealing with freewilled undead. A good oppertunity to fill out the Forsaken ranks and for some freewilled undead to join the Alliance
Oh my god. This never occurred to me. And you know what. It’s stupid enough to be real.
ye sure the argent dawn killed millions of undead during the assault on ice crown the echo of arthas told as in legion that the dead out number the living but suuure there just a few left
also I dont think all valkyrs joined sylvanas eighter, there is more of them arround also.
True, but Odyn made them… after we freed Big Papa O. from Heyla’s trap, I think its logical, the old boy grabbed them “dead young ladies, its time to come home to serve ME” - nope, don’t have any proof, its just logical. I know, I know, WoW and logic… I will let myself out
They will die in a pre patch ofc! Arthas’ daddy was overreacting
