Yo, simple question. In season 2, what item lvl will the new gear be at? Like base champion gear, and hero, etc.
I’d like to know cuz of preparing, if it’s useless to get solid gear now if all of it gets replaced first week. Someone said it’s gonna be about 20 item lvls difference which is pretty close

It’ll go up by 39 every tier, so add 39 to what you have and that’s what you’ll get from that content in S2.
Interesting! Has this always been a thing? And why the odd number? 
It used to go up by 2 ilvl brackets per season, it changed to 3 in amirdrassil and that trend looks to continue.
It’s a multiple of 13 because that’s how much ilvl there is in a bracket.
There was a very old dev post, possibly older than 10 years, that explained it through math and human perception; how they build item levels to not be linear increases but exponential and how they fixed that exponential increase to be close to that of giving players the sense of improvement when upgrading an item while also avoiding the issue of extreme stat inflation
