What would be the quickest way to make locks non-sucky in pvp?

Personally, I feel that the current warlock is not fun in PVP, and seeing some arena statistics, not only is not fun but also not viable. Thus, I think it needs a pretty complete rework. But let’s face it. Getting that is unlikely until the next Xpac.

So I think we have to settle (and focus on pressuring for it) for an easy solution that at least lets us continue playing the class we love.

Personally, I would say the solution should be making demonic circle available as a base ability. Let’s face it, in TBC, when it was added, it was a great way of giving locks a much needed boost to their mobility without making them into mage copies.

However, in the current meta, in which everybody has fast movement abilities (blink, charges, jumps, etc.), demonic circle is probably the second worse movement ability, with the worst one being the demonic gateway.

Adding the demonic circle would give a situational, not exactly powerful ability that every lock can use without having to lose another, basic defensive ability like death coil. Plus, it frees a talent slot, allowing for another defensive talent to be added (maybe howl of terror, at least for affli locks?)

With that, locks would have a way of getting distance from melees, thus making them have “some” chance against them, without actually breaking the class.

Similarly, I think demon armor should be a base ability (although not as powerful as it is now) that can be upgraded by using the pvp talents. As it is now, it is almost 100% mandatory to bring to any situation where you may force a melee target. Which imho, is bad design: no ability should be mandatory.

There are obviously a lot of minor changes that could be added to our talent trees, with a lot of useless talents needing some love. Feel free to discuss them. But I think making demonic circle a baseline ability is the quickest way of making the class at least not horrible to play.

Just give up already
Blizzard will never give us what we want
