I mean, this has been a thing since at least WOTLK (2009) when I started playing so it’s not anything new. Just report and move on.

i even waited 54 days for my ticket. after 40 days i got blabla bot message. and only after complain i got real human… this was 54 days omg!

in good games such scam is not even possible!

Gold selling scams have been a thing since Vanilla/Classic.

Rightclick the character name, Report for spamming or whatever option is best, it’ll automatically block them for you aswell.

Also there are tons of games that have these types of scams even now.

I report them all but they are more comical when in bad English.

There is a reason that GM whispers actually have a special GM tag, so they can’t be impersonated:-

Chat Phishing

Game Masters always have a Game Master Logo tag next to their name. If the tag isn’t there, but the person you’re talking to claims to be with Blizzard, it’s a phishing attempt. We also cannot contact players inside Diablo 3, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, Overwatch, or StarCraft.

Please report players impersonating GMs so we can take action against them. This will also place them on a temporary ignore list so you can keep playing without receiving additional messages.

If your account has been hacked, submit a ticket and secure the account as soon as possible. You should also consider attaching a Battle.net Authenticator and signing up for Notifications for added layers of security.

  1. how often does it happen?
  2. What does blocking bring me?
  3. How the hell is it even possible for someone to whisper a name like that to me.
  4. Why should players solve problems that soft developers should be doing?
  5. and many more.

  1. Almost never, i have played wow for 18 years and had around 2 whispers like this so the answer is once every 9 years…
