During MoP I remember we saw her death in the future and even Kairozdormu was there, but she is apparently still alive. However Kairozdormu (as far as we know) is dead so this can’t happen anymore unless he is somehow still alive (hopefully) but considering this whole expansion was about dragons and we didn’t see anything new about them does that mean Blizzard has completely scrapped that lore or am I missing something?
It’s likely that Vision was just a possible future outcome and not absolute, which explains why one is dead and the other is alive.
As for the Out-of-Universe explanation, it’s probably a loose thread that got resolved quickly in the novel by just killing Kairozdormu because for time travelers, the consequences aren’t really dire and you can weave it into “Alternate timeline” or “Possibility that might or might not happen” especially right around the corner for an expansion themed after such.
