I’m playing a few characters now in BFA. I wanna get used to the game before Shadowlands but the classes I’ve tried feel very fast paced when I’m playing dungeons. Any pointers appreciated.
THanks

I don’t think the classes are fast paced. I think people getting into a dungeon start running like their hair is on fire.
It gets worse when you start at Mythic-plus dungeons, where you are running against Blizzard’s clock.
Arms Warrior, Frost DK … personally, I’d have a look at Demon Hunter. It’s not inherently slow, and it feels fast, even though it isn’t, but it is very well equipped to keep up with dungeon pace.
I’ve heard ret paladins can be quite slow, but I can not attest to this 100%. I haven’t played one in a while. DK’s can also be quite slow, but unholy is generally a difficult spec. Frost is usually easy and doesn’t require much thinking, depends on the meta build though. Usually melee DPS are more fast-paced than ranged, and ranged specs don’t have a tank option aside from druid (which you could also give a go, feral is hard but balance is usually not).
Here is an APM chart I found online, but I can not tell you how accurate this is. http://simulationcraft.org/reports/T25_Raid.html
. The higher the APM, the faster the pace. Again, no idea how accurate that is. It looks like it might be roughly correct.
That’s useful, but it took me a minute to find how to open the Actions Per Minute APM chart - open Table of Contents, then click Actions per Minute / DPS Variance Summary. I’m surprised Havoc is so high; I would have thought that the extended interludes for Eye Beam and Fel Barrage would have slowed them down a lot.
But, as I say, I suspect the problem is not in the APM proper, but just getting used to the pace of dungeons, which is unexpected for new players, or Classic players.
I’m also looking for a slow dps. And by slow I mean low apm. At the end of the day, tired from work and family, the last thing I need is to spam button number 1 like my life depends on it. This is why I don’t like enhancement, or fury.
It is sad that situational decision making and clever use of cooldowns got replaced with haste capped gcd spam.
Paladin is more relax paced than the rest, it also suffers from being slower than other classes with limited movement talents.
Slow dps ret pala
They also fun tank
