I’ve played 100 arenas today, I’ve met maybe like 8 frost mages. Most of the games are yet again just melee zugzug fiestas, meaning all iterations of ww/dk/war + heal, what am I missing?

Herd mentality. Clueless majority of people cry about something and rest is following them. We have a reality like uh dk and affli lock. Both are ruining PvP right now.
Mage is still hard to play properly.
Probably only a problem on high ratings.
Played with mm vs frost/rdruid at 2kmr and that frost just facetanked while doing absurd dmg. Nah frost aint fine
Problem with fmage is on outdoor, duels and bgs.
Arenas are not all the pvp modes and even there mage deals way too much dmg with infinite definsives.
Usually caster aren’t that much there at low cr it’s more at higher, especially atm you you have to play without precog.
You meet more melee at low cr cause it’s easier to play and doing mistake aren’t punishing like caster.
most of their abilities are either ccs themselves or spam micro cc in the form of roots. the spec by its design means the second that it becomes meta will frustrate everyone.
its not fun even if you win. it always feels bad playing into a frost mage the same way it feels bad playing into a sub rogue. its just terrible design.
as a warrior its fun because you will get rooted on your charge and DC occasionally, and this root will be entirely RNG and not planned for by the mage, but because you rolled unlucky and got the root proc, now you’re offline.
Frostbite is a 10% chance to procc on any chill effect which is a slow. Whats probably getting you on your charge is Ice Nova which is on a talented choice node with Ring of Frost and it’s super good to stop a mouth breathing neanderthal with a big weapon in his tracks after blastwave so he can’t just intantly use another one of his gap closers. Another Ice Nova procc in the damage rotation that Frostfire tree has but as far as i know its only for damage, it doesnt look
I’ve been hit multiple times already mid charge by Frostbite. The icons are different and you can see what hit you. Some skillful mages do indeed Icenova root mid charge, but it also happens randomly.
It’s so weird that Frostbite does not have a DR

Its been changed multiple times over the years. Sometimes it has DR and sometimes it doesn’t.
