I did not post here for while, just saw the preview for Midnight and I confused on the Orcs being part of the Amani.
How did they got there? How did we miss them in previous expansions?
Also curious if this means we’re going to see new Amani leaders that aren’t Trolls, or if the Orcs are more like mercenaries/absorbed tribes.

The thing with there nose existed since Cat I believe and having orc absorbed into the amani wouldn’t be a surprised since the fall of the first orcish horde
Those are not Orcs. It is just the new model for the Amani-Trolls which uses the Orc-sceleton as a basis, which is why some may see a resemblance.
But lorewise, no, there are no Orcs within the Amani-Tribe
I’d wait for elaboration! It’s true that this new appearance is orc-like and a jarring sudden change, but it could just be a new fashion change and distinction. If there will be orcish ancestry, i’m sure we’ll see it explained even in a little book somewhere we’d find in Zul’aman when Midnight releases.
But yes, for the moment our information is very lacking. Personally, I like the idea that a main forest troll distinction is that they often have short noses. Like how Frost Trolls are likely to have thicker back fur.
Only women are using the orc model. The men are still using the regular troll skeleton and animations. They are just extremely bulky like orcs.
I’m not a fan of their new design cause they really feel too orcish, I think keeping the troll specificities was not that hard but it is how it is.
They made the Amani very buff because that is infact lore accurate.
Males are fine in my opinion. It’s the females ones we saw that I think look too much orc like. Having them use female orc skeleton doesnt help either.
Other than 3 fingers and slightly longer ears they seem to lack anything that could easly distinguish them from orc females.
Are you serious? Look at their pug “noses”. Aside from a single model so far, they have smaller noses than Orcs and that’s not the only mess up. Their heads are messed up.
Yes the females need more work, but still both are bad. Even the ears are wrong for the females, the chin, nose, the whole face is for both bad.
Compare the new model with the depictions of the Amani before Midnight, concentrate on the faces.

It’s clear to see. The new models are not like the others in their facial structure, especially the nose, facial structure around the eyes and cheeks and the chin.
I really hope their faces will be fixed, at the very least the nose. The female needs a total make over regarding the face.
