I feel u and it is a BIG issue for all pvp players that actually want ro pvp, not just have the server tag.
As mentioned above the fresh servers are still somewhat balanced. Also the big US realms
If u want an existing English pvp Server there is only Ashbringer left. It is low pop, slowly growing and 50/50 A/H ratio, nice world pvp but still rather low pop.
So if u want a balanced megaserver then u would have to go to a german (Venoxis) or US Server
Ashbringer interests me, I don’t mind low population if the server is growing, and I’m mostly looking for that chill sort of vibe you get from PvP servers like Yojamba and smaller ones like that. It just sucks EU completely seems to lack that, because players have forced 99% servers everywhere for god knows what reason.
If they don’t want PvP in the world why don’t these people just roll on PvE servers instead of ruining the PvP servers faction balance and turning those into psuedo PvE servers, it makes no sense. Even with Ashbringer being small, if it’s actually 50/50 and if it grows it might be the best option for old school PvP server feel that Classic was made for.
Someone said Thekal and Jin’do but I can’t go on Thekal because it’s locked. Jin’do seems balanced but it’s also fresh so I’m expecting a huge drop off once that freshness wears off. Ashbringer doesn’t have that issue as it’s an older server. The fact there’s no obvious answer is the most frustrating part. NA and Oceania both have very obvious options for this kind of server.
I also see Mograine as a possible option but it’s very heavily Horde right now and I’m most likely looking to play Horde. Seems around 75% Horde based on my scans/data right now which is too high and I don’t want to dog pile and join the very dominant faction.
If I didn’t know any better i would think you copied your last post from one of my many discussions on discord with my friends lately.
You speak what most of us think and cannot understand (why play pvp server if u turn them into pve monofaction). After countless heated discussions my friends and I have decided to transfer to Ashbringer (for all the reasons u mentioned above).
We (4 irl friends) are Firemaw Horde… the last 0,001% of it. It was funny to play the resistance for a while. Not being able to do any content other than killing 60 alliance pve players in 60mins gets tedious after a while. And being outnumbered 100 to 1 at Wrath Launch would kill the motivation in some of us.
The evening we decided to finally transfer, there was a bug and the transfers got locked, so we r still stuck on Firemaw for now waiting desperately for it to open again. But we will move there
So let me know what a likeminded player like urself will decide to do, I am curious
We’ll see what I do, It’s mostly a gamble no matter what really, as it’s impossible to predict perfectly what will happen, but you can logically assess it as best as possible to help reach the outcome you want successfully.
I already have 70s on Pyrewood Village PvE Alliance, and I have fun there, but I find myself wanting something different every now and again. It’s a 99% Alliance realm and there’s no PvP due to it being a PvE realm. I’m not even a huge PvP guy, but I missed that original 2019 Classic rush, and also missed Thekal’s launch as I was focusing on levelling my Pyrewood characters and preparing them for Wrath launch (which I’ve now done).
I want to experience that old school, smaller population, cozy PvP kind of server. I’ve heard great things about servers like Yojamba, Sulfuras and Deviate Delight (when it was around) that offer/offered this, but I don’t want to pay a second sub just to play on these realms, so I’m looking at EU English options exclusively right now. The best options seem to be Jin’do, Ashbringer and Mograine.
As I’m playing on a big mono faction PvE realm for Alliance, playing on a smaller more balanced PvP realm for Horde would give me two perspectives and totally different experiences. So this is my goal right now I think. I’d have to level from 1-80, so I would miss Wrath launch on this smaller server, but I’m not too fussed by that. On Pyrewood I have great gear, also have Arcanite Ripper and lots of mounts, so you would think I’m in a good spot, but I just feel like something is missing. I meta game too much and it takes all the fun away from the game. Pyrewood is also getting on the overpopulated side now, and can be hard to do stuff open world (like mining ores). I prefer to take my time and immerse myself in the world. It’s unfortunate we don’t have a RPPvP option anymore as I would 100% take that option if I could.
