What's the point behind blocking faction change after boost?

I wanted to enjoy the evening on a revamped older toon I had lying around. Boosted him, then tried to faction change and it denies me, saying “This character used a Character Boost too recently.”

I understand the logic behind blocking boosties from instances, but faction change??

I’m thrusting money down Blizzard’s throat so I can enjoy my evening as the race and class I wanna play, and some arbitrary bs blocks me from it.
AT LEAST GIVE A WARNING IN GAME what boosters can’t do, or what can’t be done after boosting. Or offer a “two-in-one” option that does both or something.

If this blocks me from faction changing for 24 hours, my time-window for gaming is gone by the time I can use the faction change.*

At least explain to me, why this makes sense.

*EDIT: Apparently it’s even 72 hours. WHYYYYY?

I’m quite sure the ingame shop has a warning that additional restrictions may apply.

  • Character Services - It is not possible to buy a Character Transfer, Faction Change, or any other service for a character that has been boosted in the past 72 hours. Customer Support cannot bypass this restriction

If you just had the boost available on your account, either from purchasing it earlier, or from a deluxe edition, there’s no warning in game.
You just click the boost button, choose a char an spec and the boost is applied.

And I’d still like to know WHY I can’t pay for multiple services in one night on one char. If there’s a logical reason, fine. But I don’t see it.

It is true that the boost token itself has no repeat warning but from purchasing it earlier or from a deluxe edition - either ingame or at the shop it does have the usual warning.

Perhaps it is worth repeating even at the final step to ensure players can visit the article in one click mhm.

Yea, I don’t remember that from whenever I bought the boost.

Though admittedly, I’d have likely assumed it references the instance lock and not checked the page again, because it just wouldn’t occur to me that I wouldn’t be allowed to use two paid services in a row.

If you want it that badly, you might be able to get help from the support; was a long time ago, but they once “reset” my cd on payed character services after I opened a ticket.
