You can buy sockets with cinders yes but you can also buy sockets from the archivists vendor as well as conduits. there seems no reasons to even farm DA rep.
I think the main point were the mounts anyway.

I care about player power but Iām not about to do some stupid grind in content that I hate for it.
They need to put power progression back to dungeons. If I do dungeons, I should get stronger by doing dungeons. Not by doing dailies out in the world.
There is a point re: player power because in my case I will have enough cinders for a socket item way before I unlock them with AC (I need another week of grind after today) and I have the two rank 6s iām already interested in done.
Iām not particularly interested in hard grinding Korthia for the items, and this way i can spend all of my currency on conduit item rather than sockets as iāll probably have most of my socket stuff bought by then.
At current rate of accrual it takes 2 weeks to buy a socket item from DA. Iād need to hardcore grind Korthia for make the 14,000 rep iām outstanding for rank 6.
Deathās Advance is the one that has not one but two paragon cache mounts, isnāt it? That seems like two reasons to farm itā¦
Although, from my own experience, itās one heck of a lot easier to get exalted wih Deathās Advance than Archivistās Codex. Maybe in 2024 Iāll finally reach tier 6ā¦

Yeah. I fell into the trap of doing the daily quests in korthia. But those only give DA reputation. Only sometimes we get a quest that reward Codex-reps. For Codex stuff the best is to farm rares and open chests. I am now ~5000 off of Tier 6. But damn what a grind.

The whole of Korthia is more aimed towards casuals who donāt participate in āThe Big 3ā.
Sure, everyone can participate of course, but it would mostly be about the cosmetics then for the raiders, pvpers, M+ers.
Wellā¦ If you look at it from another PoV: What if I want to do world content. I shouldnāt have to do dungeons to get some progression then either. It works both ways.
Iāve said it many times before: Imo they should make world content into its own endgame pillar. And then give seperate progression paths for all of the 4 main endgame pillars.

It is a stupid grind and they should never repeat it.
It should not be the case where two characters can spend exactly the same amount of time in the zone, kill exactly the same amount of mobs, open exactly the same amount of chests and do exactly the same number of quests and after 2 hours one has gained 400 rep and the other 2000.
It is an utterly stupid system and it should have just been tied to a basic reputation and the currency has nothing to do with the reputation.
Or just make the resource stygia or something and ensure itās locked behind rep to prevent s1 hoarders buying out all the goodies.

I do the dailies (or at least the ones I havenāt blacklisted), pick up any invasive mawshrooms I see and kill any rares I happen across when Iām on my lunch break, and thatās all the engagement theyāll get from me (outside of raiding twice per week). I know that this means Iām making basically 0 progress on Archivistās Codex, unfortunately!
I got my first Deathās Advance paragon cache recently and, suprise surprise, no mountā¦ (Not that Iād seriously expect it from the very first cache, but a girl can dream!) Iāve got every single paragon mount so far, but with two from DA and on from Archivistāsā¦ I think Iām out. Which sucks, as I loved collecting mounts and doing world content, but Iām not having fun at all. In fact, since Iām away this weekend, this might be the week that I give up doing any Korthia beyond filling the bar for the weekly.

I do not even care about sockets or conduits to be honest. I mainly wanted the mounts I could get from the paragon as I want to collect them all now during shadowlands and not end up having to farm for them 2 expansions later ( looking at you court of farondis and highmountain paragon caches >.> ) ā¦ Luckily I got both mounts and pet from my first cache so now any paragons I will get will be a passive source of gold. So all is good for me <3
Loads of reputations have 0 player power behind it and are purely for completionism and collectors.

For me the point was to get the pet, mounts, and mogs and thats about it really, nothing much there, just another pointless made up faction from the developers they want us grinding.
Correct me if iām wrong, but I think it has only 1 paragon mount. The Deathās advance war cache has 2 mounts, that is the box that comes from the weekly āShaping Fateā quest. The other war caches from maw assaults have 1 mount each except kyrian assault which has zero.
Transmog mounts and sockets. Rememebr that you need a lot of those 252 conduits from codex rep. I noticed something interesting. IT appears to me that while playing casualy in korthia you should be able to imidiately buy most stuff you need the moment you get exalted rep and then farm for transmog and mounts
The moment you reach Tier 6 youre done with the conduits given your selected spec Conduits are selected first. And by the time its likely one has already acquired several ones from the Adamant vault on top of it.

I remember tiems when you can get preraid gear from rep before raids open. But now rep grinding is so slow so you donāt even buy that gear because you have done heroic or mythic in that time.
