What's up with all the Murlocs in Dragonflight?

I just fought a rare Murloc Demon Hunter mob. It cast Eye Beam and Fel Rush against me. It wielded little green warglaives like the ones Illidan use and it even had the blindfold and the horns and all.

With that in mind… it made me think… we’ve been seeing a lot of Murlocs this expansion. Putting one and one together and the only reasonable conclusion as to why we are seeing so many Murlocs must be that Blizz are hinting towards something… yes… I mean, I’m not positive but…

Could Blizz be hinting towards Murlocs being added as a playable race sometime in the future? I mean it’s about time, isn’t it? And I’m sure they’ll be playable as Demon Hunters, too. They can make it work. Lorewise, I mean. Somehow it’ll all make sense. Illidan needs more troops, like A LOT of troops. And Murloc are plentiful, as we all know.

Maybe there will even be TWO new Murloc races added… regular Murlocs, and Gurlocs. Murlocs join the Alliance and Gurlocs join the Horde. I can even brainstorm some template racials.

Murlocs passively gain strength when nearby other Murlocs
Gurlocs can channel their GRRRLLRLRLRL ability which fears nearby enemies

Well, maybe I’m crazy, but, honestly, I would have been more hyped for playable Murlocs than Evokers.

No, that won’t happen. We would only get one race - Murlocs. And it will be faction-neutral with temporal faction alignment until the faction merge get sorted out in the future.

No. They just know people like cute murlocs.

There are Murlocs in every expansion. Sometimes there are lots of Murlocs, sometimes there are only a few. But they are always there somewhere.

When there are lots of them, it’s usually a good sign that Naga are around somewhere.

I doubt we will ever have a Murloc playable race.

I’m still sad I had to DE my Heart of Azmeroth because I needed the Resonant Crystal to level my Enchanting.
