What's up with the cost of the new timewalking rewards?

I can understand the 20-year anniversary timewalking items being more expensive than usual since they might be a one-off opportunity. However, the cost of some of the new items on the TBC timewalking vendor is absolutely bonkers.

I am specifically speaking about the weapon cosmetics. 1200-3000 badges for a single weapon transmog is simply too much, as well as very discouraging.

It’s great that there is a bigger reward selection, but the costs really have to be tuned down. Especially since I suspect the currency requirement will also be the case with the new timewalking cosmetics being added in both 11.0.5 and 11.0.7.

Please adjust the timewalking badges required.

To buy everything for a player who doesnt use alts it costs over 45.400 badges not easy to get stop basing the game on what YOU do and stop assuming everyone does it.

Like mentioned in my original post, I am okay with the cost of the anniversary timewalking items. It is the regular timewalking weapon cosmetics that I think require a reduction.

Like i said to buy all new TBC items it costs 45.400 badges not an easy task to do.

Also new rewards coming for

legion
wod

others

another 20,000 for mounts

uff. UFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. why so harsh?

im just pointing that there are a lot of badges with a lot of activities. Im perfectly aware about people play in a different way.

But regular rewards are rotating and

  1. there is no hurry to do it
  2. you can gain next time

simple, no?

I agree especially considering the number of badges rewarded has now been nerfed. Nerf those and they should nerf the costs too. I guess the expectation from blizzard is those never go away so if you play long enough you will eventually have the amount(s) required.

when you make obtuse comments like

I can not take you serious at all , you cant earn 40k + badges by barely playing.

ok it was an hyperbole. lets say “im playin not so much”.

do you feel a subtle pleasure to be rude with random ppl in forum? Just to understand.

Not being rude at all just stating facts, i forget some people are over sensitive and look for things in words that are not there…

nah. im not sensitive neither snowflake. But probably getting old i cant anymore understand the rude approach, even when people write st@@@d things.

How on earth am i being rude i am just stating clear facts , if you cant deal with it so be it and now stop derailing the thread and get back on topic and btw might want to remove the masked swear word its bannable. Last reply to you as its not needed anymore.

You are not meant to get everything right away. It’s supposed to be a long term goal.

Those new added armor sets and weapon transmog are just recolored old low resolution models.

The weapons are horribly low definition. Their costs is a bit too high and really not worthy.

Buy it if you have a lot of useless badges. Otherwise, it is just a waste of badges.

I think Blizzard just considered that many players have collected a lot of currency over the years, because they’ve long since bought everything the vendors had to offer. So for that reason Blizzard put a lot of new rewards in that could deplete some of all that currency players were sitting on. And then they probably had some foresight and recognized that they likely wouldn’t be updating the vendors again for a number of years, so they put in some more rewards to spend a bunch of currency on - to future-proof the system a bit.

I think on the one hand you have Blizzard who sees this as a job well-done and a system that’s future-proofed for years to come.
And on the other hand you have players who perhaps haven’t hoarded a lot of currency for the past many years, and who are now looking at a grind where they need hundreds of thousands of currency to get everything that’s desirable, and that feeling incredibly overwhelming.

So yeah, it’s not very elegant design, because how it’s perceived depends a lot on the individual player and how much currency they had saved up in advance.

What i dont like is that when i lvled my character to lvl 80 and at lvl 80 i get the quest to run 5 timewalking dungeons for 500 tw badges. (Or an other reward that i forgot)

when it costs 1800 for 1 item then yes very long term and very silly lets look at it dealing with facts and logic

first dungeon drops a quest that gives you 500
then raid quest gives you 500

so far 1000

then you get a box from raid quest reward for another 200

so a basic 1200 that still means you have to earn 600 badges at 10 badges per boss so 60 bosses which is about 9-11 dungeons thats just insane for a recolour.

and for TBC you need alone 45,400 you see how long thats going to take so the OP asking for a cost nerf is justified

I think those new rewards are specifically for those timewalking events
Like old rewards i collected them around SL maybe i don’t remember but i had everything and i was siting on a lot of badges over the time…
So it’s good that they are adding more stuff into those vendors so timewalking now is again something you can run again for badges to collect stuff as it was before
