So. When the BfA prepatch hit, Blizzard made a change so that rune of power and combustion wouldn’t affect your trinkets, meaning that you don’t get the extra crit chances and 40% damage increase. That makes sense I suppose, they didn’t want any of the future trinkets to allow mages to do broken, unintended damage.
However… it seems that discipline priest can do the exact same thing with their Schism ability now. They use it, the target takes 40% extra damage on them and that applies to stuff like cyclotronic blast or crucible of flames. What’s with the inconsistency? Why do you fix something with one class and then let another class do the exact same thing later in the xpac?
