Im keeping up the rotation and also controlling my streaking but yet im making like 18/20k without incarnation and something like 30k with incarnation while other druids that I see in M+ dungeons are making much more while having a lower gear and/or having lower stats on every stats compairing to mine…
Checked my rotation with something like 5/6 Balance druids who are making much more dps than me with loswer gears and stats…
and even gave a try to a friend of mine who has an awesome dps on his Balance druid but even he couldnt make enough dps with my character…
Im not repeating any spell but still having 19/23% streaking and a too low dps…
checked my char with raidbots and it says I might have 31k of dps or so…
any idea whats cousing this ? or is there anything wrong with my gear, Stats, Essences, Azerith Powers etc. ?
or my character is just broken?
I looked at your Lady Ashvane log so I can get a better idea of what you might be doing wrong in a given fight. Basically, your talents are COMPLETELY wrong.
Firstly, you need to play Nature’s Balance. Force of Nature hasn’t been competitive in raid since Uldir, and even then it was situational. Nature’s Balance should be your default talent here - you’ll put out significantly more dps.
There’s no fight in Eternal Palace where using Incarn is a better choice than Starlord. Starlord will always pull ahead in dps, even whilst paying little attention to optimising it.
There’s also no reason to take Twin Moons over Stellar Flare on most of the bosses (you want Stellar on Ashvane for sure). It’s only worth taking Twin Moons when you can regularly cleave with it. Za’qul is a fight where you WANT to take Twin Moons, and Orgozoa and Radiance are fights where it probably won’t make much difference either way. For the rest of the instance, take Stellar Flare or you’re opting to do less damage.
Again, you took Fury of Elune on Ashvane for some reason. There are no encounters in Eternal Palace where this talent is worth it. Take Shooting Stars.
Talents are without a doubt why you’re not doing damage, but there are also a couple of other small things you can do. Losing the 2nd pulsar for another trait is likely worth it. Both the Radiance shoulders and Gorak Tul mantle are good candidates for this. Make sure you sim all your gear as-well once you’ve changed talents. Your mastery is pretty high, and it’s not really all that good for us anymore. I’m sure a top gear sim will reveal potential changes.
Hey man, I’m having a very similar issue. Some minor differences are that I researched talents and traits so my current talent and traits are optimized according to icy-veins. Near as I can tell, the main cause of my issues is a lack of haste. I will pull between 40 and 45k during bl with cd’s and pot up but the rest of the fight that can drop as low as 16k.
Presently don’t have logs sadly but will try record and edit the post later on.
What is confusing for me about this is that other druids in the raidgroup seem to be doing substantially more dps outside of burst phase whilst we have almost identical damage breakdowns. Can anyone provide some insight? Cause this is really starting to gut me, it feels like I’m just bad at this char which isn’t a great place to be.
I’d be more than happy to help. Someone has been logging the fights you’re in, so i’m going to give you some info based on your most recent heroic Sivara parse.
Firstly though, based on your armory alone, I have a few things you can do simply by spending a little bit of gold and maybe swapping some gear that will boost your damage.
Consider buying a Highborne Compendium of Storms to replace the Aquipotent Nautilus. Highborne Compendium is currently more valuable than all of the heroic raid trinkets, so unless you get 435/440 warforges (or you raid mythic) you probably won’t replace it. Nautilus also isn’t very good for the encounters in Palace.
You need to enchant your weapon and rings. You should sim to see which the best weapon enchant for you is at this moment in time. Machinists Brilliance tends to win over the others, but it picks your highest stat, so it might not be so useful with your current stat distribution.
As you have picked up on yourself, your stats are a bit weird. As a general rule, ALWAYS sim top gear so you know which pieces are an upgrade or not.
Onto your Sivara parse:

Your biggest problem was downtime and cancelled casts. You had 34% down-time and 28% cancelled casts, which means you’re spending large periods of the fight being essentially inactive. Some downtime in a fight is normal, because mechanics are a thing, but 34% is at least three times higher than downtime you would expect to see (one of the other druids in your raid, Bappie, had 6% downtime).
ALWAYS BE CASTING, and try to avoid cancelling any casts that don’t need to be cancelled. If you know a mechanic is about to come in that you have to move for, pre-plan for it and pool AP so that you can starsurge whilst moving, and use sunfire as a filler otherwise.
You also need to ensure that you maintain dots on the boss. Your moonfire was only up 85% of the time, and stellar flare 71%.
I had a quick glance at the logs for other fights too. You pre-potted Sivara but didn’t second pot, and you didn’t use any pots at all (and no food either) on Behemoth.
In the same way you’re screwing your own dps by not enchanting your gear, you’re doing the same if you don’t use consumables - make sure to be flasked/fed, use pre-pot and second pot.
Hey man, thanks so much for the advice! Yeah sadly a lot of the issues you mentioned are the results pf my circumstances. 1, not being overly used to ranged dps led to poor positioning which is gradually improving. 2, my finances on this toon are incredibly weak after having just come back to the game and not having other chars on the realm. Things have steadily been improving since I posted on here but I just wanted to say thanks quickly for the insight as I wasn’t aware the numbers were as high as that
