Hey, sorry if this isn’t an appropriate place to ask, but I’m thinking of restarting on Gehennas because my server dies during late nights when I play the most.
I’ve been levelling an alt on Gehennas with the intent of trying it out but I can’t discern if it’s the right place for me. The server I come from had a really nice community. How would you describe the community of Gehennas? I’ve been a little bit intimidated by all the GDKP and Boost adverts that flood the LFG.
Hi, you posted in Classic Era, was that intended?
In Era the servers are clustered, meaning that all PvE servers are merged into one cluster (acts as one server), and PvP are split into two clusters.
Gehennas is on the “other” PvP cluster, which is very low (dead!), so Gehennas is not a good place to start Classic Era. I just checked Horde side there: 17 people online on Gehennas.
Your best options are here Firemaw (PvP), Pyrewood Village (PvE) or Hydraxian Waterlords (HC). As far I am aware, there are free transfers from Gehennas to Firemaw, although I am not 100% up to date here.
If you did not mean Classic Era, but Wrath Classic, then you should maybe ask there instead.
Ah, sorry, this is my alt. My mistake. This was meant to be on the WOTLK forums. But I’m thinking of picking up my character on era so thanks for your response!
Tbh gehennas got nuked by gdkps and other trash lot more than say firemeow … but theres still a boatload of good or ok people, so it shouldnt be an issue …
Got alt on gehennas in noobie guild, tryhard guild and even gdkp runner alts and people are mostly fun …
Your experience with pugs and outside of communities might differ tho … lots of douchebags and “bad” players too … since its one of the megarealms …
Also bunch of reaaaalllyy cool people pvping with alliance alts on gehennas xD
Gehennas is the most populated server which means its gonna be filled to the brim with absolute bot players that dont know how to play the game or speak english properly. Also its infested with GDKPs.
If you’re going to Gehennas make sure to download the “scambuster” addon to stay away from blacklisted players to make your gameplay as good as possible
Gehennas is great if you want an active server, but you really need to get used to separating chat windows as LFG/LFM/World chat are always flooded with GDKP and several SR pug runs.
Interesting replies. I will have to do some research on how to hide the GDKP and Boost adverts.
I’m leaning towards instead going for a more mid-range server and risk a little less activity (but still loads more than my current one). Golemagg is my next option and then Mirage Raceway.
BUT you can literally get nowhere unless you have a guild.
Pretty much 99% of pugs are 9/9 hardmode runs expecting you to have 5k gearscore and 99 parse logs. If you attempt to join one without that you get laughed at.
Then due to all the hardcore players your left trying to find low tier pugs to clear normal content which in itself is frustrating endless wipes on HC+ and simple boss mechanics due to the bottom of the barrel being the only choice of player left to raid/dungeon with without them logsssssssssss.
So in short find a nice guild and progress with them.
Thanks for all your replies. I tried out Golemagg and it seems to be quite nice and active during nights but no luck finding a guild yet. I decided against Gehennas and it’s between this or Mirage Raceway now.
Hello there fellow hunt, i play on Gehhenas since its Glory days on classic 60 release…
If you want to play here the 1st thing you wanna do is roll Horde since the ratio between ally n horde currently on the realm is 99.9% hordes vs the remaining % as alliance (literally not joking)
Everything about spam chat with GDKP runs and bots obviously is true
and about the community etc, whenever you go right now you will always met with the sweatlord kids that are toxic or judgemental af, So you do you about it.
(ignoring them , or a blacklist addon as some1 mentioned above is always a wise choice)
It may be the fullest Server in EU right now (horde only) So you wont have a problem getting in grps, playing with people.
