What's your favourite role to play?

DPS you only have to follow the tank and do as much damage as possible.

At the moment I am leveling a DK, Shaman and Druid.

DK only as Frost.
Shaman and Druid resto only.

DPS > Healer > Tank because there isn’t a fourth role.

Cheers.

Tänk for leveling and helping somebody you know, at least it’s requested not random
DPS for anything
Never healing, complete no, I am mentally blocked from this unacceptable for me role.

I’m the worst healer in Europe. World’s okayest tank. So, I DPS. Prefer ranged over melee.

I hate healing with a vengeance. I don’t much like healers either after many bad pug experiences.

DPS is my home. I play every character as a DPS, no exceptions. Prot and Holy are dead specs to me, I don’t even know most of their ability names.

Ranged DPS > Melee DPS > Healer. Healer is stressful, so I only play in low stake situations :stuck_out_tongue: Ranged DPS is the most relaxed role for me.

Healing > Caster DPS > Tank >>>>>>>>> Melee DPS.

Melee DPS still doesn’t click with me - though I did enjoy leveling my rogue - I’ve just never taken to melee. I have tried >.<

In raids tank - because it is easiest and most relaxed role in mythic raids and allows me to see most content with least effort. No, really even when I have to work my belly button off in progression, I feel tanking as role is most relaxing, calm and all that.

In dungeons it depends of the amount caffeine I have consumed.

But yes, I like tanking as role the most.

You sound like the perfect tank. On it - but not stressing.

I remember, when I started raid tanking as my ‘main role’, I was nervous on wiping the raid, doing stupid mistakes and so on. These days I always tell to new tanks and tank alts in guild that “think, what is worst that can happen… you wipe your raid… in a game … so ?” and this is the 1st thing you have to learn to get past - worrying about your mistakes. You make mistakes. Even method tanks do mistakes. Every player does mistakes. I.e. last raid in xanesh I think 12 (!) wipes were because of me. I rolled over ledge, forgot that I had to hit ball, walked over ledge, got stuck between pillar and ledge and hit ball on wrong angle…

I just had a bad day. But it is important that you do not take your mistakes in heart, or on the contrary do not excuse them. Yes. there is responsibility as tank, but also in raids this is a role that 99.99% cases is very predictable as Blizzard cannot randomize your role too much. Your role is about control and damage management.

And as tank you can literally have sanctioned(!) power trip - want wipe raid ? Just turn that dragon. I love it. I love killing my raid!

Thats deffimetly sounds more powerful than making a sandwich.
Surely you heard the concept of responsibility for your transgressions?
What if your healers and dps also had a bad day and they were holding on to this raid attempt as a last straw of sanity left in them…
And YOU KILLED THEM, YOU CRUEL DK

Highly depends on mood and how classes play, at the moment I am still very much enjoying smacking things with my weapon as a Surv hunter but I’m also fond of my MW monk (although bring back MoP fistweave pls).

I consider myself flexible, I’ve tanked, healed and DPS’d with speccs I enjoy through the years and I’m fine staying that way.

laughs I promise I only wipe raids, when its called by the leader! At times people drag their feet with dying - trying to save some gold or something, then a tank can cause fair bit of mayhem. Dragon bosses are best for this.

Although in past i have also wiped raid, when there’s drama in voicecom. I have learned that a good solid wipe snaps them out of it. Luckily my guild does not drama often, but has happened every now and then over the years. A good wipe always works as a message that 18 people do not care if 2 people have some unfinished topics.

I happen to have also a bit melodramatic tank-partner in Nyalotha, this guy is so triggered over bad days. And when we had also a healer and dps player have some personal “who stepped into what” fight, then it was hilarious how in sync both tanks just - one jumped (DH) and other rolled (monk) over ledge and raid leader said we almost simultaneously whispered for this garbage to be sorted. We, tanks, had not pre-agreed this

Have to give credit to raid leader and team in general. That drama was sorted collectively within time frame tanks got tea/coffee. We killed the boss afterwards very nicely record time. And since that healer and dps have kept their tongues.

Tanks come with great responsibility! Keep raids drama free !

Depends on content;

  • Raid is DPS.
  • M+ is Tank, however I’m too obtuse …so I DPS.

M+: 1st Tank, DPS and Heal tied for 2nd place.

Raids: 1st DPS, 2nd Tank, and Heal in 3rd place.

I’m OK with looking at 5 big health bars in M+, but looking at 20-25 small health bars in raids is hard on the eyes.
