When are we getting our voices back?

Hello there,

The iconic DK voice distortion effect has been missing from the game for a long time now. Mine disappeared when patch 10.0.5 launched, back in January of last year.

I’ve been sending in tickets and bug reports ever since, but I never got a response. Am I the only one that wants the DK voices back? Blizzard never announced the removal and it’s something that added to the class flavor. DH characters have their unique voices, so why can’t we have ours back?

Some people claim that they still have their voices, others claim that theirs got removed much earlier (in BFA). Anyhow, console commands don’t bring the voices back and I’m still waiting for an official response or explanation. Is anybody else in the same boat?

it’s a nasty bug, that also works selectively, i was without mine for 3+ months, then it magically came back one patch, so you might get the same, or never the devs are busy doing windwalker and mage and warlock reworks please dont overwork them small indie coimpany

This got solved for me today!

I’ve used the following console command many, many times before, It never managed to fix anything. Today, a game master contacted me through a ticket response and recommended me to try the console command again.

After typing /console Sound_EnableDSPEffects 1 in chat, my DK voice effect was enabled again. Apparently, something in a patch release brought the option back and allows players to enable the effect again. No idea what patch fixed it, but it’s working for me.

So if you’re playing a DK that’s still missing the voice effect, give /console sound_EnableDSPEffects 1 a try. Even if you’ve done so many times before.
