When can I do Mythic+ ?

Hey guys, I’m currently level 119 almost 120 and I heard that the late game gear is only obtainable from Mythic+

As a first time player reaching max level, is it possible to even enter? What are the things I need to start one and when can I start it?

ATM for Let’s say a +2

You might need around 400 Ilvl.

And no M+ is not the only way to gear up.

What do you mean by +2? Also by iLevel 400 I’m guessing you mean an average item level of 400? If so where can I obtain the gear for that?

What are the other options to get a good gear?

I apologize for the ignorance

When you get lvl 120 i suggest continue the storyline and go for nazjatar. You can get some 385 ilvl items pretty fast.

Dungeons are coming in difficulties. Normal, Heroic and Mythic. On top of Mythic there is Mythic Plus. The same difficulty in mechanics except with a multiplyer of damage people get and healthpools the mobs/bosses have.

Mythic is dropping something like 400 ilvl loot. A little below that ilvl you can get into it. Heroic is dropping 385. You can queue for heroic (and normal) with a daily lockout of getting loot for doing the dungeon. Mythic has a weekly lockout. Mythic plus has no lockout, you just have a chance for loot for every run.

When you get to 120, start gearing by doing World quests, and nasjatar quests/world quests, while also queueing for Heroic dungeons and try to do Warfronts when they’re up.

around 380 average ilvl you can start doing normal mythic dungeons and LFR (Looking for raid) for latest raid tier to get more items.

and after you do your first mythic dungeon you’ll get mythic key stone and you can do Mythic plus using that keystone, which will update if you do dungeons in set timer.

I appreciate it everyone, thanks for the help!

Your current priority is: Open World Quests and get your Flight Master’s Whistle.

For this, you need the quest Uniting Kul Tiras

which you can pick up on the ship, and complete by getting at least Friendly with all three KT factions. You are currently Friendly, so you should be able to do it righht away.

Looking at your progress

I see that you have completed your three Footholds on Zandalar. These are also necessary for World Quests.

Then you have World Quests. You need World Quests to start Nazjatar.

You may also have to do the Island Tutorial quest you get from Flynn Fairwind on the docks. I’m not quite sure.

You may optionally run dungeons - Normal until you have enough item level to get into Heroic - to get more gear. In running these dungeons, you will be getting to know them for when you do them on Mythic and Mythic+ difficulties.

Anyway, when you’ve done all that, your next stop is Nazjatar, where you will get much much better gear, which will make your questing much less painful.

You may optionally also do regular World Quests you see in the map on Kul Tiras and Zandalar, if you see a reward you want.

You should also do any Emissary quests you see. These are the three ciorcles shown at the bottom of your map, you get rewards for when you do four quests in that zone/for that faction.

You should be at 385-400 ilevel within days.

Then what the others above said.

Spam dungeons and complete wq quest (also prio nazjatar questline to upgrade neck).

This week is dungeon week, so + loots from dungeons. As soon as you get around 400 i lvl go inside “normal” mythic dungeons, pick up a q before which gives you 430+ i lvl gear if you done 4 of them.

Find a guild my friend. They can tell you where to go and when. Things like world bosses, warfronts, conquest, auction house and rare zones can help you gear up faster.

Making your way to Nazjatar as others have mentioned is a good way to get a solid set of gear. They start out at 385, but can be easily upgraded using mana pearls, which are easy enough to farm. I’d probably only recommend upgrading if you find a good piece though, like a socketed version.
World Quests won’t give you any better gear than Nazjatar, but you can get some rings/trinkets out of it at least. Emissary armor/weapon caches can give some nice rewards.
If you turn on wPvP you can cap out your conquest points and unlock the PvP chests for a solid upgrade. If you’re not much of a PvPer you can usually cap your points by just doing the faction assaults and call to arms quests. To give you an idea, on my alt I was able to upgrade a really low piece of gear (I think it was around 400) to 425.
If you have access to Mechagon you can find blueprints to create your own rings. I believe you can buy the upgraded version from the robot there near the PvP quest givers, but it may be reputation locked. I managed to buy it at revered.
There’s a quest you get really early on to obtain a nice trinket too. The cool thing about it is it just comes with 3 different colored slots, and you build it up yourself.
You get a free red slot punch card to get you started which procs a massive boost to your haste.

The weekly quest is to do four mythic dungeons and has a nice reward ilvl for a new char. It will also get you a M+ key. You can also do M+ dungeons to qualify for the reward.
