When exactly is group loot tradeable? (Focus outside world mobs)

This, and does rare-mod loot scale with char ilvl?

We did the gryphon in Waking Shores, a rare elite, in a group, and the loot that dropped was not tradeable. But I remember some other loot being tradeable, although that might have been a super-touch elite rare that’s marked on the map, event boss or such, and I can only confirm it for a dragon look item.

Also, do those rares drop higher ilvl when your char’s gets higher? It seems they’re all dropping 369 now and it was lower before.

In any case, it is quite frustrating to organize a group and then someone else gets an item you need and maybe you get something someone else needs.
Or if the loot is indeed scaling, is this a measure to prevent a super-high ilvl-char to pass super-powerful loot to lowies?

Group loot is the system when the loot pops up and you get to roll on the item pressing the button need, greed or pass. This was implemented in raids as the only loot system for Dragonflight. Dungeons have Personal Loot.

Most open world content is just Personal Loot. If you are killing a rare you can’t trade the loot, same goes for world boss.

i cant understand this. to this toon dropped 7 times a gun from a rare in obsidian. gun that i would like to have with my huntard. i find this Bop a little… weird. they could link these object to blizz account.

In SL, ‘just personal loot’ allowed trading of items that were, according to a not so accurate logic, not considered an upgrade. So open world activities must be a special case, although as I said, several times I had a dragon look drop from that and it was marked as tradeable with group members. So this seems to only affect gear and maybe some other things, not everything.

It didn’t allow trading on rares or world bosses though. Only in raids and dungeons, you had to be instanced.
