When is 9.1?

On wowhead it is written
Patch 9.0.5 will be released sometime in March. Shorter thereafter, 9.1 will be on the PTR.

Wowhead adds that PTR lsat from 4 to 6 weeks. So don’t expect anytime soon.

I think 9.1 will come in the summer. Probably in June.

I still hope it for April/May. By then, it will already be 6 months from SL release.

With current content drought, any release after June will be a disaster.

Given that they didn’t have any screenshots or video footage to show and were not ready to even speak about systems, I would say it is far from ready. I think not before June/July or May at the earliest.

Couple of the big YouTubers are pegging 9.1 for an August/September release, which seems plausible with the amount of work seemingly left to do on it.

June seems extremely optimistic. PTR by the end of June, maybe.

Same feeling here with only concept art being shown and no footage at all. on top the QnA is riddled with “we are duscussing it”, “we have no info at this stage”. etc.

but I am on the pessimistic side, so late August is what i think mostly likely.

If they do same timegating thing again, it may buy them sometime to unlock things for a slight early release which just drag content longer than necessary for players.

it didnt even drop to that During WoDS 1 year HFC Farm lol or 8.3+prepatchs Huge Length either.

I think thats a overexaggeration :stuck_out_tongue:

this isnt the first tier to last a Age… if anything this is one of the shorter of the times its happened. and its happened ALOT.#

A lack of content gives us all time to do the true end game… the True enjoyment and our favorite activity, insult blizzard on Media Kappa however to your point. ur correct… its not exactly the most positive thing that could happen to WoW xD Espically in its current state which seems to have atleast peeved a Portion of the playerbase with loot etc etc

Yeah but content droughts happen during the last patch, when they are working full time on the next expansion, I don’t think there was ever such a huge gap between the release and the first content update in over 10 years :grinning:

It depends on how much you enjoy the current state of the game. I personally have a lot of issues with both the base content and its quantity, so knowing nothing will be changing for so long and that they still have no idea on where to take the game system-wise sounds more dire to me than BFA ever did.

Unlike the droughts at the end, there is no motivation to start playing alts either as there are no gear catch-ups and is never fun to do in the first patch. I can’t subject myself to upgrading my own lego to the last rank much less grinding a whole new one for an alt.

True… i guess i will just dedicate the time to earning the +15 m+ achievement. and maybe seen if i can get curve depending how long it lasts.

well i like the dungeons aesthetically more then i did alot of the BFA ones… so i atleast enjoy it more then if we were still in BFA… i also feel like i can ignore more of SLs content meaning its less of a problem to me then BFAs ontop of that. i dont think anything imho can sound as Dire as BFA… just because of the dread of how many chores per day i had to do.

Dunno, i got 8 level 60s :P…

Yep, we have never had such a big gap on 1st content patch, if 9.1 will be in the summer.

9.0.5 will be in march. But it only has valor system, some balance/hotfixes without content update.

Covenant campaigns are finished. We will reach renown 40 in 3 weeks. All the endgame contents we can do between now and 9.1 is farming M+/raids and pvp.

But I don’t think this can keep players interested for 6 months. I can also see a huge sub drop if 9.1 won’t be here until summer.

Well, I guess Blizzard can always blame covid for this delay…

That would be a lot more fitting yes, since they are all one big joke.

Leveling isn’t a problem, 1-50 is the best it’s ever been and 50-60 is pretty fast if boring regarldess of what path you choose, it’s gearing them and getting them up to speed that’s just bad right now imo.

I’m leveling to 50 with a few other alts too until my sub runs out as I can’t stomach logging on my main anymore. Trying to pug to KSM this season which was never a problem for me before, has nearly ruined the game for me along with all the other issues I’m having with SL.

all my 8 chars are 700+ RIO :P… there also all 200+ ilevel and Done uptoo M+12 i’ve had no issue. no that aint ur 1.5k RIO Character pushing M+15, prolly due to rerolling so many times.

not only that… ewntirely quitting Horde to Main alliance.

Probably will but it didn’t look to me like that was the problem. If they announced massive changes and updates but no release date then sure, but they seemed clueless on what to do with any feature and their problems that it doesn’t look like time is the problem here.

Datamined Valor requirements for upgrading gear are disgusting in their current state, if that isn’t massively improved then a huge amount of people will drop the game until 9.1 and maybe even then unless it turns out great.

but this is the wrong way to Consider this. if they announced major changes and updates and Couldnt do them because of Covid we’re gonna see content cuts like WoD to get something out which overall would Sound worse then if they Announced smaller updates but over achieved for example.

the Playerbase will react worse to a them Not reaching a higher goal then Reaching further then a Smaller goal thats just how it works, its like when something says “arrive in 7 days” and u get it in “5 days”.

Covid is defintly affecting them… theres no way blizzard are the only company on the face of the earth not being hit by it. we all saw Cyberpunks launch… we all know how bad that went.

i wouldnt go as far to call em disgusting… i mean every system like this for example the pvp one also require ranks to progress the ilevel further.

the only part i dont like is the fact its not account wide.

I am also a big altoholic in every expansion. I have 4 chars with max renown 200+ ilevel and around 20 alts between level 50-60.

I only level alts to collect the covenant sets, mounts and transmogs. I have 0 intentions to do M+ or raids with them.

Even with so many chars, the content drought and boredom is real for me. I don’t think many players can endure 6 months with current content.

My guess is June. We haven’t been shown any footage or videos of the new zone and the raid, so I personally don’t think they’re even close to being finished. It’s understandable though, as the COVID situation is likely slowing down the production speed.

I was referring only to the datamined numbers/amounts of Valor required for upgrading individual pieces from the post on Wowhead. Going by those numbers it would take you like a month to fully upgrade 1-2 pieces at most. They are subject to change and I hope they do otherwise the system is dead on arrival from the persepctive of motivating people to play.

This is my main problem too. All the loot scarcity compounds further with every alt who should be gearing faster than your main did technically due to catch-up and you knowing how to be more efficient compared to your first main gearing.

I mean depends. If you are only playing for the endgame then yeah there is not much to do. As a collector I find these downtimes useful to level alts/get mounts etc.

You can aim for CE / AOTC / KSM / Glad. Usually these achievements takes a lot of effort / time for the average players.
