I’ve got 2 fractured so far +1 from quest. Macro told me I already earned 2 of 2 but I need another one for weapon. When will it be available and why is everything stinking time gated? When will you fix your servers so there is no lag in Undermine? What do you do with money from subscription if servers are trash?
Shouldn’t have done the quest last week. Then you’d be “rewarded” with an extra spark.
So, an exploit and there is a comments that says no one got banned for this in season 1. Good job, Blizzard.

Where do you draw the line between “Oops, i forgot” and “If i hand it in next week, i’ll get another half-spark!”, though? Do you want Blizz to ban people who just forgot a quest?
It’s not really an exploit, more like a bug that should have been fixed in Season 1, which i do concede is very sloppy, mind you, but not something to punish the players for.
Honestly, I dont really care.
I will craft a 2-hander because its more efficient crest use. However, I would never even dream of doing it the 1st week or the seccond week of the season. The prices people ask are simply ridiculous.
I wont pay 400k this week, when I can pay 50k the next. Exploit or not.
I got the first sparks on a new toon I was playing with. Won’t even bother to do it on my 15 other lvl80’s soon.
Same for the upgrades, I only use the valorstones when I’m close to the cap.
If someone got an extra spark as an exploit, then make the next week not reward one for them. Problem solved.
That wont solve the problem.
The problem is that some people got a significant power-up 1 week early. They would still keep that power-up even if they did not get a spark next week.
And that is probably why blizzard hasent done anything. You cant travel in the past…

Yes, a lot of players have toons that did not even try to get the spark last week. So now, what should they do? Delay turning in the quest and wait until it is ‘fixed’? 
Indeed. But as @Jarista-Stormrage pointed out, not everyone who got the extra spark got it because they knew about the exploit. There are too many people who do not complete half of the weekly quests during the week they become available. I don’t know if Blizzard can differentiate between people who exploited on purpose and people who exploited by accident. The current “best” solution is to prohibit this advantage from propagating forward, ie. do not allow these players to remain one fragment ahead.
Maybe they can do the following:
- Make a list of every character that got the extra fragment
- Of those in the above list, make 3 different lists:
– Those who still have it as a fragment in their bags. In this case, delete the extra fragment.
– Those who have converted it into a Spark and still have the Spark in their bags. In this case, replace the Spark with a fragment.
– Those who have converted it into a Spark and have crafted an item (or recrafted) with it already. In this case delete the item if it’s a newly created item, or revert it to its state before recrafted if recrafted, and also refund one fragment and the rest of the crafting materials.
Too cumbersome.
Either:
- Remove the ‘extra’ spark. But what if it’s already used?
- Give everyone 1 extra spark
Anyway, whats gonna happen next ‘week’ if it’s not fixed’?

And after 3 weeks…
I find all this ridiculous.
Because you are only compelled to spend that much gold in an early 2 handed weapon in very specific cases of progression guilds.
Everybody else should NOT spend that ammount of money. Its not necessary.
With, or with out the exploit. That is not the point.
So basically : This only affects a small margin of people. And the “rest”… well… if you abused of the exploit they are idiots for wasting money. And if they did not, they did the right thing anywais.
In other words. With out the exploit, nobody should craft things as soon as they are available. You should always wait atleast 1 or 2 weeks for prices to go down. The exploit dosent change this reality.
So “morally” I dont see a problem. Bugs exist. Sometimes we just have to live with them.
