Warlord Gar’dul was in command of the Barrens when the Alliance forces made the move across the lands, and the Shattering divided the zone into Northern and Southern Barrens.
Following the Horde questline through the Southern Barrens, Garrosh Hellscream’s lapdog Warlord Bloodhilt enters Desolation Hold and throws our hero out of a command tower, and he does not survive the fall.

A couple of days ago I realised there was an under construction hut in the Drag which has been untouched for 13 years.
In the interim, they’ve added a portal room, embassy, a trading post and oh yeah, a whole secret underground city to Orgrimmar.
Somebody really needs to get on that.

I just hope the Orgrimmar architects start taking more inspiration from the civilized architecture of the other races.

Also, they could add more windows and doors to the narrow canyons. To make it look more populated and more like a “city”. Petra style, but with spikes and trolls selling questionable things.
And NPCs that haggle you randomly. Like a bazaar.
Nah, it’s high time Silvermoon gets all the attention it deserves (and becomes a new Horde capital), and Orgri is just buried under the avalanches of rocks.

TBH, what I REALLY WOULD LIKE for Orgrimmar, is a mix of architectures. With each Horde faction having their own District in the city with their own Aesthetics (except Belfs, they still have Silvermoon - should be updated too! | Zandalari have still Zandalar, so no need there either | Forsaken get Lordaeron updated, also no need for human-buildings in OG | Tauren neither due to Thunderbluff still being there - needs also a visual update).
That would really fit into the “Horde of many species” idea.
Honestly don’t think it needs updating again yet, Stormwind and Ironforge could do with an update though.

You have never done the Horde quests in Southern Barrens?

I changed faction after I came back from a long break from WoW (which I took near the end of WotLK). I’ve leveled a few horde alts since, and I did do several of the old zones because of course they had all been changed since I left.
But… It doesn’t ring a bell.

There is your problem. Log one of your Horde alts and refresh yourself on the story. The questline itself begins at Vendetta point, so you can skip ahead to this location for the relevant story. 
Actually the side of Garrosh we see in Stonetalon isn’t canon due to obvious reasons, it was written by a quest designer who didn’t knew the direction they intended to go with the Warchief. The general that got thrown down the cliff was a genuine honourless Garrosh lapdog.
Meh. I’d rather play my main.
Come on, takes like 15 minutes on a highlevel char, including the time spent reading the quests.
