For now i can’t place all pruned spells of affli or destro, but i will try to update that list later.
As you can see, we had lost many of our spells. Some of them became talents, and replaced some actualy good talents that was before. And on top of that, we didn’t recieved any good replacement for our lost spells.

I miss my Doomguard and Infernal most off all, so much is taken away, so little is given back. I’d say all classes suffer from this serve pruning and hollowing out. I suppose it’s done so it’s easier for Activision to ‘Balance’, less options, less work.
So many abilities was taken from us, because blizzard has fired our class designer, and since that, none of active game designers was really interested in developing our class. All that happend to warlocks looks like work of people who doesn’t understand warlocks as a class from gameplay design stand point, lore stand point and fair sence concidering capabilities and limitations of game engine.
Worst they gave a better rot to sp than aff and the equivalent of our meta to sp If you want to play lock, play sp, it’s where the class is at. The guy in charge (wouldn’t be surprised it’s someone trying to balance between those classes identities) decided sp should have it all.
Our class is barely recognizable with no true rot on affliction, demonology bugged AI pet, and destro being gated behind chaos bolt to do damage more than ever.
Someone coming from wod or before would not recognize the class as warlock if it weren’t for destro.
I think all classes suffered from this as well. Alot of spells have been removed or talented and i think its because there were too many abilities to handle.
Problem is that you end up being very bland with no gimmick.
Its not only all the Warlock specs but also alot of classes too.
Warrior you generate rage in order to spend it. Pally you generate holy power in order to spend it etc…
I think the real problem is that Warlocks take too much time to generate these “resources” and therefore makes it too much of a hassle to enjoy.
Not only that, Warlocks losed too many key spells and mechanics. We lost simle utility spells liky succubus knockback or void disarm. We lost our reliable aoe, curses, instacast spells, self-heal talents, our big time demons.
While classes like mage double downed on their strenghts They now can blink during casts, rogues gained self heals - crimson vial, additional mobility and ETC. Warlock design right now on the bottom.
