Ogres, kobolds, gnolls, tuskarr…
There are many races with much greater potential than a simple dwarf, orc or tauren reskin.

its not a pre-existing race with rigged armor, so we aint getting it. Simply.
Look at the state of dracthyr a 1 race 1 class set up with no riggable armor bar shoulders and belt and even then not all models were rigged on them for what they should of been able to mog, and then they patch out the 1 cool thing they had going being able to stow weapons on your back cause it was a ‘bug’

oh im well aware, but this is blizzard we’re talking about. If its not an elf or something which has already been over the top used for allied races etc then i dont expect it to be worked on.
technically, dragons are among the most ancients races ever.
To the other responses: if “constructs” don’t count as real races then, only Tauren, Trolls, Pandaren and Elves (and maybe goblins) count. The rest are all Titan-constructs, or direct descendents of.
And dracthyr aren’t dragons, they’re dracthyr. In the same sense that housecats aren’t lions. They’re just related.

Arguably Kul’Tiran is a true “race” seeing how it has an unique rig. Though least Zandlari, Vulpera and Nightborne are also distinct enough from their source skeleton to also be fine.

You can blame allied races for why you only really get reskins.
People raved about them even though 90% of them where just reskins or old models with new attachment i.e tauren with new horns.
Thinking about it bfa might of sucked as a expansion but it had a lot more going for it than the previous 2 expansions. Shadowlands and dragonflight.
