Not a lore expert, but is that the tauren’s fault? Looks like a natural desert to me, and with the Cata update it started to get some green area, and the taurens are making sure to cultivate it.

the horde fought the humans/alliance in a global war for territory three times (warcraft 1,2, BFA), and lost them all.
they are just not capable of taking and holding territories from the alliance.

Large parts of it are now poisoned. True, not the whole zone, so in a sense, there you go, it’s some good land for the Horde I guess.

Interesting. Still, I’d give them a pass because of how long ago it was, and everyone makes mistakes. The night elves made multiple failed world trees that were corrupted from the inside.

Thrall was a fool to settle the Orcs in Durotar and the Barrens. These lands are bare of any natural resources and not worth defending it. The Horde needs to uproot themselves and go somewhere where it is lush and green.

He was running from imprisonment, along side other fellow Orcs.
He got what he could.
Look at RL Spartacus and how his journey and his fellow gladiators ended …

Ashenvale could be the perfect staging ground for a new Horde empire with a capital city that is twice as big as Orgrimmar. Only then can the Horde be proud again.

Those lands have a owner and they won’t give it without a figth.
Yes the Horde burned Teldrassil, but their main army including their leaders survived. That was a meaningless victory.
If anything it proved that Sylvanas and her followers could be cruel on Scourge levels.

WoW lore is laughable.
First they try to describe the Orcs as better than bloodthirsty savages, with Thrall story but than Garrosh comes in to play, showing brown uncorrupted Orcs are as violent as the green ones.
Than they try to tell that Sylvanas and her followers are different from Sourge, during vanilla period, just to go the other way around in a 360 degree turn, during multiple expansions.

We will change that when the next war comes. Once your leaders are dead we take Ashenvale and make it the center of the enw Horde empire. The Horde will claim ALL of Kalimdor for good. Lok’tar!

been in hillsbrad yesterday, havent seen any large portion corrupted. so i wouldnt really give a hard time for them for corruption as its not even half the land.
