you notice something? All your veterans are alive and doing fine. Meanwhile the last old character the Horde has is Thrall everyone else is dead. How can anyone be so blind to the obvious?
Orcs: foreigners invadeders
Undead: first undead is nit natural, second the sere former humad si by your own logic titan.
Bloodelves: were former nightelves of whom you deny any claim already-so same for bloodelvesâŚ
Same goes for nighrborn too.
They are alive and still getting story. Canât say the same for the Horde since Blizzard killed everyone old. And no i will never accept stupid replacements. They are all filthy traitors who agreed to the peace treaty.
YesâŚliterally what I quoted from chronicles.
And weâre talking a huge time period here as well.
The creation of the Well of Eternity predates 150.000 years ago.
The first real mention of Trolls was the Aâqir wars/Troll wars, 16.000 years ago.
But yes, influenced by Titans, but not a Titanic creation.
Correct Lore must be upheld
I want to congratulate OP for making this thread: in an age when people commonly say that the story of WoW is so bad that it isnât worth following, they managed to gather plenty of people clearly very passionate about WoW story - keep it going OP, we need people and threads like this! The game has a very interesting narrative, and itâs good to remind people that story still matters!
On the topic Iâd like to say that while narratively we all may have different views on what actions were or were not justified, avenged etc, itâs really hard not to see that looking from the outside, viewing the narrative as a game for real people, the Horde has really been done a disservice.
The game tries not to portray either faction as outright villainous, seemingly giving players of both sides the feeling that they are playing âthe good guysâ, but a quick glance at this thread is enough to see that any âbadâ act done by Alliance is very nuanced, and easily called an honest mistake, while the Horde has many outright villainous acts that simply canât be explained in any other fashion than âHorde Evilâ.
in other words, narratively Hordeâs actions are portrayed as just evil without reason, and Alliance actions are Justified Rightful Retribution.
This leads to a situation where Alliance players may sometimes feel like the losses of their faction are sometimes left unfinished (although Iâd say that mostly thet do get their justice), while Horde players are not only left without any retribution for their losses, but are also denied moral right to that retribution (due to their losses being portrayed as retribution for their own actions)
From larger perspective of gameâs narrative, this imbalance is visible very clearly. And this discussion proves it.
The old lore is fine. It only started to decline in BFA afterward (BFA still has interesting things), and itâs already unbearable after DF.
But chronicles 1-2-3, books like Arthas, Rise of the horde, tides of darkness are fine.
Now we have things like Faerin saying that she identifies more with the values ââof the orcs than with those of Stromgarde, a complete whitewashing of the Horde, who two doritos ago were burning towns and impaling villagers and now are pure goodness welcoming human refugees in their hub, and the âsupremacistâ inhabitants of Stromgarde who have forgotten that the Alliance gave them back their city.
In the Alliance, weâve had to endure the almost complete destruction of one of the most popular races: the Kaldorei. Christie Goldie said in her story that very few remained alive after the burning of Teldrassil. What do we get from the Alliance? Everything is forgiven for the Horde, but also for Sylvanas, who will return in the next expansionâŚ
The Forsaken will reclaim the Undercity very soon, with our help.
Also, after the siege of Orgrimmar, for some reason, the alliance gives territories like Azshara to the horde, which is inexplicable.
I donât know how many there are, 20-30-40. Thatâs still less for gameplay reasons than there actually are. But even so, canonically, most of the Kaldorei were genocided by the Horde, and the Horde hasnât been punished enough for it.
It has been punished and everyone responsible is gone in some way. The fact you think it isnât enough is on you but even in a fantasy world capital punishment to kill entire races was never a thing. You know who actually goes unpunished? Jaina.
Canât You see that You are proving my point? Alliance lost Darnassus. Horde lost Undercity. Yet by Your own admission only one faction has moral right to see retribution. This is exactly what Iâm talking about, because in vast majority of cases it is the HORDE PLAYERS (notice how Iâm referring to actual people here) who are denied moral right to seek justice for their losses.
