I’m seriously wondering when another MMoRPG from Blizzard will come out.
Blizzard you are the mother of this genre, you did a good job introducing WoW in 2004 but slowly year after year this game is dying so hard, and with it this genre. FF , new world and stuff like that are just copies that would never reach WoW potential at his peak.
I’m asking, take all the great things you did in these 17 years, learn from that, and make the best MMorpg game ever existed.
Stop doing remake, classic, fresh servers, etc… eating the same dish everytime in the long run would never work…
Blizzard’s World of Warcraft took $63M to develop, updating and maintaining the game added another $200M to that figure. The game had over one hundred million registered accounts by 2014 and by 2017, had grossed over $9.23 billion in revenue, making it one of the highest-grossing video game franchises of all time.
The current game is over 17 years old and even loyal players are leaving as they want something new, something different as Blizzard gives us the same old game with new skins expansion after expansion.
If there is any game out there that makes common business sense to invest in and develop it is WOW2! In fact, it will be stupid not to.
So you deny that players are leaving this game in massive numbers year by year? You and most other Blizz sycophants have your heads deep in the sand. Don’t worry, no one will force you to play WOW2. Current retail WOW can be added to WOW classic. There are even private servers. There is obsoletely no reason to deny players WOW2. What is it to you? You can choose which you want! the WOW as you know will most likely be around for another 10 years at least.
Players had been asking for ‘classic’ servers since I statred, and probably since TBC.
There’s not much you could do. The age of the game is irrelevant. If you change the game too much it puts off the existing playerbase.
Players asked for an alternative advancements system: in Legion we got that with weapons and people complained about the infinite grind. We got an iteration with Azerite armor and then again with covenants. Players ask for new but when they get it they complain about actually having to play the game to progress.
All players do want is a reskin.
Blizzard tried to make a new MMO with Titan but they spent so many years on it but just counts make something viable. Very few new MMOs last long.
Case in point: FF14 2.0 self-admittedly copied WoW, this was their mission. It’s still running on the Wrath/Cata progression system.
That is your opinion. I will bet that if they make WOW2 it will be a top seller. And even you will eventually buy it. So stop talking nonsense. Who are you to think you represent everyone else in what they want from a game?
What have I said that’s nonsense? YOU assume I’m denying anything, YOU think people have their heads in the sand and YOU are also assuming I have anything against WoW2…
So if anyone is talking nonsense here, its you.
Naturally player numbers decrease over time and the game isn’t doing that well right now, doesn’t mean it’s “dying” which is the only thing I responded to… people having saying that since the start and it’s tiresome. I suppose you have that in common
What massive numbers? Why do we need shared realms? Again, why is Blizzard not publishing actual player numbers? Yes of course players come back when a new expansion comes but that number is becoming less and less. Go google new popular games. Most sites do not even mention WOW.
Come with a better argument than trying to throw my own words back at me. You said I assume too much? Go tell me anyone that WOW player numbers are not decreasing and people are not getting disenfranchised with WOW.
