Where are all the guilds?

So in the past I used to see many guilds advertise themselves in trade chat and general chat while looking for new members but now that I have some decent gear after comming back to the game, I’m searching for a guild and I don’t have any idea where to look for them, all I see in trade is spammers selling boosts and general chat is basically none existent.

Where do I have to go in order to find a guild and no I don’t need a leveling or a social guild, I want to find a decent raiding guild.

Guild finder.

Press “J”, and fill out the desired fields.

Guilds advertise in various places

Wowprogress - https://www.wowprogress.com/
Your own realm forums
Guild recruitment forum
Reddit also has a recruitment sub reddit
There are some discords too
In game guild finder tool

Been there, all I can find is people boosting, random guilds for farming and nothing which is actually useful

People boosting in guild finder?!

Sure you don’t mean group finder?

The guild finder is not the same as the group finder.

Thanks Puny, I had just started reading the post as she deleted (oh she restored it now yay) it so I was worried I’d misunderstood it.

I was using Guild finder, and yeah there are “guilds” in there that farm stuff like groups in LFG etc and many social guilds

Shout at terrace : LF Guild !

Sure that wasn’t community finder? They’re under the same menu/hotkey.

I can only speak for my realm but we don’t have any of that in guild finder.

I honestly find the guild finder to be a negative thing for the game. it allows guilds to afk on their recruitment, which results in people not knowing if the guild is active or not. you don’t get to talk to the recruiter to learn what sort of community it is and what they do and how often etc.
I think it’s like all the other automated systems that have been added into WoW. they may be good in many many ways and make life easier for a lot of people, but it removes the human element and makes the game more anti-social.
these days, you can do most ‘social’ things without saying a single word to another person.
Sure, it suits me for the most part because I’m a bit introverted, but The best thing for me would be to be forced to interact as that is the only way I can get better at it.
used to play this game completely differently back in TBC.

I think the best way to find a good guild if you want one, is perhaps to look in forums or try talking to people in goldshire or in front of orgrimmar? or… well it depends what exactly you want a guild for actually…
