Since the new expansion launched, the class we’ve been playing non-stop feels like it’s sinking deeper into oblivion. These bafflingly clueless changes—clearly crafted by people with little to no understanding of game mechanics—really make you wonder: does Blizzard actually listen to the players, or are the game’s dynamics entirely dictated by the whims of a handful of so-called “pro players”?
Speaking for myself, I’ve poured an absurd amount of time into this game. Sure, that’s on me, and no one else’s concern. But here’s the hard truth: when you put all your eggs in one basket, life—and this game—gets really frustrating.
Remember when the mantra used to be “Bring the player, not the class”? Well, it seems like that’s ancient history. Now, it’s more like, “Play the meta classes or keep quiet, because we don’t care about you.”
It’s also painfully obvious that you have no clue what dungeons look like for players outside the pro scene. Let me spell it out for you: those enormous MDI-style pulls? They don’t happen. You don’t get endless chances to spam AoE, and those 2-minute cooldowns? They don’t magically catapult you to the top of the DPS meters in normal runs. Surprising, isn’t it?
Maybe, just maybe, one day you’ll come down from your ivory tower of game design genius and start making changes that consider people who don’t play the game as a full-time job but simply for fun. Imagine that—a game designed for everyone. What a radical idea!
I played a bit of frost so far. Enjoyed, reliable for sure, as soon as they nerfed obli and made breath the go to swapped back to unholy.
Thing is, I do way more damage as unholy. I’m an experienced uh player. You can’t really communicate that to anyone though, minus friends and guildmates that is. Which brings me to the usual point of going out of your way to make friends in wow, this game is utterly unplayable without them if you care about group content.
They definitely need to re-examine what they expect out of all their classes. They clearly have no clue what some of their specs and classes are supposed to be in terms of gameplay.
No offense OP, but you wrote a lot and said nothing.
If you honestly want someone to hear you, be constructive. Mention exact things you think are bad, because right now I have no idea what are you talking about.
The writer (me ) expresses frustration with the state of their class in the new WoW expansion, criticizing Blizzard for prioritizing pro-player preferences and meta-focused changes over the broader player base. They feel ignored and argue that gameplay doesn’t reflect real-world scenarios for casual players, like massive dungeon pulls in MDI tournaments. They reminisce about the “Bring the player, not the class” philosophy and wish the game was more inclusive and fun for everyone, not just the elite.
