Where do you go as healer in blitz?

Hi, I am your average 1600 - 1800 Andy, I just get my elite sets and play alts, so this is clearly a skill issue, but you know those bgs where your team just runs around like headless chicken? Sometime you win those, sometimes not. But due to my new irl circumstances I dont get to play enough games to make up for these coinflips. As a dps I can still play around objectives even if the rest of the team is doing god knows what. But my main alt is disc priest and I have no idea where to go in these type of matches.

For example if everybody is fighting mid, do I stop healing to go for the flag and risk them all dying? If I am left solo defending a base, do I leave it empty to go heal the team fighting on a road or incing another base? Basically whats the action priority as a healer in uncoordinated teams?

Thank you for any advice!

As a healer in any form of pug PVP, generally you just want to be where the fighting is thickest - MOAR HEALZ = Better. Going off solo as a heal is entirely wasting your potential.

There are a few rules of thumb:

  1. Never be where the other healer is. Common mistake is double healer in D in WSG for example. Exception is waterworks during the initial teamfight and often Eots.
  2. Be close to the biggest teamfight, unless 1)
  3. Move, when you can, heal whats in front of you if you cannot move
  4. Don’t inc bases alone, don’t try to make plays. A healer carries by raw numbers
  5. Get Reporter or press shift m, for a small minimap. You have to be at the right spot at the right time and you need to read the match
  6. Just send queues. Even the best players in the world have winrates of 58-60%. This means they still lose almost half their games. You cannot win them all. You need to nudge the game in your favor and over time you will climb

And don’t end up defending a base.

literally what here is written. Playing on 3k mmr and still seeing cluless healers in Gilneas when we as horde get both lh and mines, it is OBVIOUS that alliance will res at their start zone near lh and rush lh and…our holy pala is healing mines against 1-2 enemy dps…of course enemies rushed lh and killed us because we had only 1 healer there. Literally moove where the big fight is as Faith said.

Additional tips -

  1. In orb games try not to take orbs unless ur an evoker healer. Cuz if u take orb u get damage income debuff, u die and then whole ur team dies cuz -1 healer. Take orbs only if u see ur dps are BAD and not taking orbs.
  2. In eye of the storm stand right at mountain peaks all the time if u see enemies have push potenial (elem shamans, mages, hunts). If u moove out of mount peak - u’ll get pushed out.
  3. In Chinese arathi map u either go mid or ruins to spin with one dps. Unless u see that ruins or mid is a free cap and you can leave it for a small time for closest base and then return back when the new round for capping starts.
  4. Same for classic arathi but u go either bs or lm (depending if ur class has push-down abilities).
there are more tips for other bases but iam lazy to write more kekw

Good questions. I always feels completely lost in bgb as a healer, thats why i prefer rss

Its kinda annoying as a healer when your team just refuses to play objectives and you cant split from them to do it yourself. The best I got is spending a talent on holy nova to spin flags easily. Other than that if nobody is going for flag or people leave bases etc, youre just feel screwed as a healer

If your team refuses to do objectives you have to accept the mmr lose. You can ping, write and nothing will change.

I usually go where the other healer isn’t.

And never end up defending a base as healer.

Thats a part of why nobody wants to play healers. You cant do anything to win as healer, if your team is just too stupid. If you go help them zerging and avoiding objectives, they carry on doing it and you lose. If you dont heal them, supporting this stupid decision, they get stomped, all corpse camped on gy and you lose, because you have no tools to do anything on your own.
To be honest, this has no solution. If you try to tell them what to do, asking for objective play, you end up reported and muted, banned, like every other healer.
Play dps, like everybody else and spend your entire sub afking dornogal, while you play other games or do RL stuff.
