So in bfa you unlocked the elite set by hitting different arena rating levels.
In SL we have the vendors now but they only reward gladiator, so where does the elite set come from? will it be different pieces awarded at different ratings again or the whole set rewarded at 2200+ ?

Not sure but I think it’s only cosmetic now, like some item you can see and buy from covenants.
I guess it will be the same system as in bfa with rating and you’ll get it automatically in your dressing.

Thats the Gladiator set at 1800, Elite is at 2200
No Elite set wasnt 2200 for years

if you check the source of the elite set it says achievement. probably works the same way as in bfa where you got parts of it at 1400 and 1600 and shoulders/head at 1800. to complete it in the wardrobe you need 2100 to get the cloak as well
This is what i was hoping, i normally don’t bother with the cloak because i don’t ever show them anyway but might make an exception this year 
Theres 3 sets of appearences for pvp sets though now right? Aspirants, Gladiator and Elite? or am i just dreaming
Aspirant gear is your normal bg gear
Gladiator gear you get from 1400, 1600 and 1800 ratings
Elite gear was 2200 rating
Illusions at 2100 rating

not quite right. aspirant gear is the honor set. gladiator gear is the normal pvp gear you can buy from the vendor and get from the vault at any rating. the ellite gear is just cosmetic and distributed as i alrdy explained.
alite gear was 2.2k back in cataclysm, but never again since then.

Ah yeah my bad, its not gear but its the elite appearence i meant and its 2400 rating to achieve the elite appearence.
You dont get the elite appearence for 1400 rating mate. You get the Gladiators appearence.
you do, same as you did in bfa and gladiator appereance has nothing to do with rating.

I know the vendors in Dalaran(Legion) require rating of 2000+ for elite appearences which is why im probably getting confused.
you‘re right. before bfa, you could earn the elite set at 2k rating. they changed that with bfa to have more rewards for lower ratings
Most people just buy boosties anyway so I guess Blizzard probably did it as a curve ball initially to minimize people being boosted up ladder for sets (?) would atleast push more initiative making the mog as a whole easier to obtain.

No it’s not. Elite set is 1.8k. Gladiator set is just your generic conquest set.
